The annual production of aerated autoclared
concrete exceeds 8 million cubic metres.
In 1929, in a small Swedish township
Yxhult, the contractor Karl August Carlen
started the production of the aerated
autoclaved concrete (AAC) by making use
of patented manufacturing methods of
the architect Axel Eriksson. The first
branded building material in the world
combines outstanding insulating
properties and easy workability of wood
together with solid construction and rot
and fire stability. Out of the name
YXHULT Angehardete Gasbetong
(= hardened AAC from Yxhult) the
trademark YTONG has originated.
The annual production of AAC exceeds
8 million cubic metres. It is used for the
construction of very high-quality
apartment, office blocks and industrial
buildings in all climatic zones.

and precisely by completing only a few operations
and by applying only a minimum of tools and
implements. Wall junctions and key joints to the
supporting framework (e.g.-reinforced concrete
or steel) can be performed quickly and exactly
thanks to kerf cuttings, cutting off to length or
milling out.
