ASSESSMENT: We embrace the belief that all students can succeed in Art and Music.
As such, both Art and Music grades are not determined based on innate ability. The
combination of consistent effort, respect, creativity, content and craftsmanship all are
contributing factors to our assessment of each students work. The Art and Music grades
are awarded from a whole child and thoughtful approach. They take into consideration
and reflect the entire creative process. In addition to our subject grades we assign an
indicator for conduct and effort.

As we explore the Visual and Performing Arts from our youngest Kindergarten learners
to our eldest, 6th grade students, we look at the students creative process from
conception to implementation. We strive to build and develop our programs from the
basic skills taught in Kindergarten, to more independent self-expression by the
completion of 6th grade. At each grade level we review old skills, introduce new skills
and constantly explore and review the basic tenants of both Art and Music. We greatly
value your continued support of our Art and Music programs. Please feel free to contact
us with any questions or concerns. We are looking forward to another wonderful school
year!
