ENC2135: Research, Genre, & Context: Word Counts

1,000-1,200 words
Writing for Digital Spaces (all parts of the
Project Three: Composing in Three Genres project)
Purpose: For the final assignment, students will use the research conducted within the second project
the hypertextual research essayto create a composition that uses different genres to communicate the Due Dates
overarching theme and topic from that project to a targeted audience. In other words, we need to create
three new pieces that relate to the arguments we made in Project 2. We will target our audience(s),

knowledge we have from developing the research essay. Your genres are your choice, based on your
analysis of the rhetorical situation learned in the research process. However, you should strive towards Genre 1 & 2(first

Genre 3 (first draft):
Assignment: This assignment requires us to engage our critical thinking, our rhetorical awareness, and Monday April 17 (to

genres that occur across composing spaces, we are able to explore the affordances and constraints of the
genres as well as understand what it means to circulate information and how we can potentially circulate

Assessment: Due to the varied nature of these genres, we will develop individual assessment models; i.e. count depends upon rest

approaches: a brochure, handout, or MS Powerpoint fit this criteria. Expand beyond the familiar or easy
