Lesson Objectives:
Students will use information from the text to identify the impact of human activities on the environment with 90%
accuracy.
After reading the text, students will design and evaluate a solution to reduce to impact of human activities on the
environment.
Materials Needed:
-Science Ecology & Environment Ch.3.1 (pg.86)
-Interactive student workbook Ch. 3.1
-Student Laptop
-Edpuzzle Pollution Video
-Paper
-colored pencils
Contextual Factors/ Learner Characteristics:
There is one 10th grade student in the class. The student does science at a 7 th grade level. She is enjoys the class, but
does not like to read. She does best with hands on activities, visuals, and discussions over the text. The student has
little background knowledge about ecology and environmental issues.
A. The Lesson
3. Closure (5 min)
Review of key points/vocabulary words from the chapter
Discussion on how they can protect the environment and stop pollution
C. Differentiated Instruction
Students will be able to ask the teacher questions if they need assistance during the lesson. If needed, students can
use outside resources to complete the activity. Lastly, students will be able to show their understanding in several
different ways through observations, discussions, and worksheets.
