In competency 001 the beginning principal should be able to help all the ones in the school to be

able to practice and or make the vision and mission statements visible in the school. All are

responsible to have high expectations in different ways. In order to have a good learning

environment the expectations should be set high because if they are not then all parties involved

will only do the very minimum and not challenge each other to do or try their best.

Competency 002 the beginning principal should be able to work with all parties involved to help

students to become better students and help all understand that we must work together to help all

students in our care to be good students.

Competency 003 the beginning principal should be able to work together will all employees to

set high standards for all students in the care of the school. We should challenge all students and

if we do not see that happening in the school then the principal should be able to work with the

teacher to see how they can work together to make some improvement in the classroom.

Competency 004 the beginning principal should be able to make classroom visits to make

observations and give constructive criticism to help improve the learning going on in the

classroom. He/she must be able to see if learning is takin place and if not, how can the principal

and the teacher work together to improve teacher effectives in order to have students

achievement.

Competency 005 the beginning principal should see and listen to the teachers/staff to see what

the needs might be in the aspect of professional development. The principal should also give

feedback based on the observations and if /he/she didnt observe something during the visit or if

something went wrong then the teacher should know so that the teacher can work on it and then
have another observations done to see if any improvement was made. Open communication is

important to build something up, the beginning principal should not bring down any staff

members. Sharing strategies that might have worked for the principal while a teacher is strongly

encouraged to happen during coaching.

Competency 0016 the beginning principal should be able to complete observations and be able

to give feedback to all staff members. The principal should be able to give and provide

recommendations to improve anything academically that needs to be improved. The principal

should be able to know how to handle different situations/challenges when they come up and be

able to find a solutions for whatever the situation might be in a positive outcome for all that are

involved.

Competency 007 the beginning principal should know how to appropriately communicate with

teacher, staff, students, and parents. The principal should know that he/she is the primary

evangelizer of the school and therefore should treat everyone that he/she encounters on a daily

basis. The principal should always remember that we are to lift up or colleagues not bring them

down. A beginning principal should also be able to build a relationship with outside people so

that in the future they might become interested in the school and become donors.

Competency 008 the beginning principal should be able to help students by helping teachers to

use different strategies that will help all students to achieve goals. Always trying to stays

organized so that the outcomes are positive.

Competency 009 the beginning principal should be able to set goals that are measurable so that

teachers and staff can work towards them and meet those goals. The goals are set as a school to
see what needs to be improved that can be worked on as a team with all working together with

measurable ways of achieving the goal.

Competency 010 the beginning principal implements and makes sure that all rules are followed.

All rules made should always be made the idea in mind of is this good for children? Someone

has to make sure that the school does not fall apart while students are learning.

Competency 011 the beginning principal is the main spiritual leader by setting and creating a

positive atmosphere for the school. He/she is responsible for making sure that all programs

implemented by the school are working effectively for the best of all children enrolled in school.

The beginning principal should be able to able to model what is expected of the rest of the team

in order to have a good and functioning team.
