Material Review:
1. Summary
The research was carried out related to the study of strategic management tools
are often used by the hotel in planning a strategy to face the competition that
occurs both in the national and international markets. This study focused on the
examination of strategic management tools, which help companies to improve
their performance and profitability, and analysis of the level of use and
satisfaction of these tools. This research was conducted through a survey of
middle and senior level managers at the three-star hotel, four-star and five-star
hotels operating in the tourism industry, Antalya, Turkey. Results of this study was
an analysis of the tools that are often used in strategic planning-star hotel during
the last five years that the customer relationship (CRM), statement of vision /
mission and total qualitymanagement (TQM). While the most tools used today is
CRM, benchmarking and strategic planning.

2. Background
Competition in both the national and international market creates market
structure is more complex and changeable. These changes are forcing
companies to have a long-term plan, check the activities of rivals and designing a
dynamic decision to sustainability perusahaan.Dampak of increased competition
are felt not only by companies but also individuals that exist in the company.
Senior executives must prioritize strategic program in order to create some
coherence to the process of making the company's business strategy, but at the
same time they depend on each individual in the company to bring their ideas
and quietly for the market development in the future. Project planning and
change the old thinking and make a difference, the power, the process of

sustainable and long-term benefits. Besides planning to form a strategic
management thinking.

3. Objectives
This study has the following objectives:
1. Determine the level of use of strategic management tools by hospitality
companies in the past and the present.
2. Prioritize strategic management tool that is used in making the hotel manager
corporate strategy are influenced by the development of economic, social and
political.

4. Content Journal
The journal consists of four parts and arranged systematically as follows:
(1) Introduction
In this section we explore some of the things that underlie why the study was
conducted. It also discussed the formulation of the problem, objectives, and
limitations of this research problem
(2) LiteratureReview
In this section we discuss some sense of strategy and strategic management
concepts from the literature. Also in this section are also discussed some device
management strategy used in this study and their definitions.
1. Definition of strategy In this paper described some sense the strategy of
several approaches including the following:
- In terms of language, the word "strategy" consists of two sources, namely the
stratum which means road, track or field. Other sources being is linked with the
name of General AncientGreek Strategos. The term is more widely used strategy
in the war and more significant in science and tactics to win a war.
- Some understanding of other related strategies led to the definition:
o A decision on long-term planning in the face of competitors.
o setting decisions and activities based on the level of competition in the market
and market opportunities by taking into account the position of competitors.
- The development of the concept of strategy in management science started in
2005 by Mintzberg, et. La.

Device management strategies used and defined in this paper are as follows:

(3) Methodology
This study was conducted by surveying about 451 hotels located in Antalya,
Turkey. The survey was conducted by sending an email, postal mail or telephone.
The number of respondents who filled out a questionnaire or respond when
contacted by just 24.39% of top managers and mid-level managers of 32 three-
star hotels, 32 four-star hotels and 46 five-star hotels. Hasilsurvey data was
processed using SPSS. In addition to determining the different priorities in using
the device management manager
