Publication Date: November 19, 2013 PH
Additional Information: Social Media Situation Report

Highlights

Humanity Road has completed three activations for social media monitoring
support in the past 12 days. While our volunteers will continue to support in social
media monitoring as needed, we are now returning to normal digital response
operations, to assist the public in finding much needed solutions (i.e.: 3W who,
what, where).

Information Management and Field coordination on the ground in the Philippines

has been established. The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) established a
Multinational Coordinating Center (MNCC), UNOCHA coordination is in place as
well as the USA Joint Task Force (JTF). JTF 5505 currently includes nearly 850
personnel on the ground and an additional 6,200 in the USS George Washington
Strike Group. (Source, Picture).

Coordination information and situational reporting and 3W information can be

found at https://philippines.humanitarianresponse.info as international

Nov 15 - I hope help will reach Kinatarcan Island, one of the islands in
Bantayan. All houses there are totally wrecked. Help hasnt reached the area
because it takes 1-1.5 hours by boat from Daanbantayan to Kinatarcan
Island. They really need tarpaulins to make a tent for temporary shelter.
They also need canned goods because they cannot cook and also they need
medicine. I hope that relief goods will reach their area. I have tried to ask for
donations here in SG and I have sent it to my Aunt but the problem is they
cannot get it because they are trapped on the island and have no means of
leaving it. Please help our countrymen there. Thank you so much (translated
from Nov14 msg via @teamguidicelli)
Nov 14: Batbatan also known as Kinatacan/Guintacan/Guinatacan
also needs HELP. This islet located between Daanbantayan and
Bantayan Island specifically at the tip of Madridejos. What is
needed: rice, water, ready to eat food, tarps, candles, matches,
lamparilla & kerosine, etc...
Cities, towns and places near Guintacan include Lamingao,
Lamingan, Banquil and Banguel. A boat relief effort is being
attempted (Facebook)
Note: There are inconsistencies in various platforms and online mapping
resources that can not be resolved for Guintacan such as the local or official
spelling of the island, the province in which this island is located - we
believe the coordinates and instructions provided above to be accurate for
the location that needs assistance. There is now or there was before the
storm - a ferry from Daanbantayan to Batbatan Island. This makes data
mining social media for this location highly complex
