Tackling Technology SCPSSA Swimming Sports

Young people need new skills and guidance as they navigate
their digital world. Do you have trouble keeping up with the
technology in their world? Monday 15th May at 7pm
Pleasant Point Primary is hosting a Tackling Technology
presentation for parents. This informative evening with the
team from Attitude is designed to help parents get the
confidence and skills they need to be proactive when tackling
technology with their children, pre-teens and teenagers.
Helpful topics such as text bullying, gadget addiction, sexting
and online safety will be covered.
This year a team of 21 students represented our school at
the SC Primary Schools Swimming Sports on Wednesday
31st March. There were some outstanding swimmers from
all over primary schools in South Canterbury with about
200 students competing. Izzy Sharp came first in all of her 9
races, she also broke 8 records. Briar Annett came 1st in
the 10yr girls 50m Backstroke. It was a great day out and all
the swimmers competed well. Well done!

Utilising technology for all its good parts while keeping

realistic boundaries will be discussed as we seek to empower
parents to feel confident while monitoring technology use in
their household. Mark the night in your diary and make sure
you dont miss this excellent informative presentation.

ANZAC Day Service

The annual Pleasant Point Community

ANZAC Day Service will be held in the
Victor Wilson Hall on Tuesday 25th
April at 8am. We would invite all
Pleasant Point Primary students to
attend the service and represent our
school by wearing our school uniform.

 Library Books and School Readers Point Primarys Spring Gala

As we are nearing the end of the term we would
appreciate it if any school readers at home could be returned.
Could you please have a search for any readers or other
Pleasant Point Primary School library books and resources
that may still be around the place.
Readers are priced around $9-$10
each so it is important to have them
back for teachers to plan literacy
programmes for the new term.

This year we are changing it up a bit and having a Spring Gala
on Sunday 17 September 2017 instead of our usual Term 1
Twilight Gala. There will be an assortment of stalls hosted by
the kids, other stalls, food and of course entertainment. There
will also be raffles, auctions, Cow Poo Bingo! and heaps of
other fun stuff going on.
If you would like to hold a stall at our gala, or if you have any
ideas for stalls, games, food, entertainment or
if you would like to help out on the day - let Ally know!

Positive Behaviour for Learning Shave for a Cure

Our next round of PB4L lessons is Thank you for the great community support we have received

Students will be considering how to

Timaru Girls High School Open Day: Wednesday 17th May 2017. There will be two sessions, the first commencing at
9am and the second commencing at 11am. There will be guided tours of both the school and the hostel. All welcome.
Pleasant Point Preschool Nursery & Kindergarten: We have three great rooms, Nursery (0-2), Preschool (2- 3
