Dear Sir/Madam:

I would like to offer this recommendation of Makayla Solada for admission to Pittsburgh
Technical College (PTC). Makayla is curently a student in my l2th grade U.S. Government& Politics
class and based upon this experience, I have absolutely no reservations in suggesting that she is clearly a
very talented and hard- working student with a great deal to offer. Makayla is a terrific young lady and
certainly possesses those types of qualities which I feel you are seeking among your prospective students.

First of all, Makayla is extremely diligent, dependable, and very involved in both school and
community activities. I know that her academic record is excellent. In my class, her work is both
extensive and insightful. Throughout her high school years, she has maintained honor roll status while
managing a very demanding schedule. She is an active member of The National Honor Society and peer
mediation organizations here at DAHS. She is also a primary pafiicipant in ceramics club as well as
numerous other activities within our school's Aft Department. Additionally, I am aware that Makayla
volunteers her time in the Big Brothers-Big Sisters program and also holds a parl-time job at a local
restaurant. Despite her full slate of activities, I must again emphasize how impressed I am by the quality of
her schoolwork and her outstanding overall attitude. She always exhibits a maximum efforl as well the
ability to think on a high level. Makayla clearly has a strong desire to fuIfiIl her potential.

Along with her academic talents and her desire to be involved, Makayla also possesses strong
leadership skills and an outstanding personality. She is definitely not a follower. She has a profound
ability to work with others and motivate her peers. She is highly respected by both the students and the
adults in our school. I am also pleased by the fact that she avoids those types of activities which often
impede the achievement of many people in her age group. She leads by example and provides an excellent
role model for others to follow.

Finally, Makayla has shown to me that she is a concerned and compassionate individual. She
clearly has a genuine interest in assisting people. I fully expect her to choose a career path which will
allow her to maximize her ability to positively impact the lives of others. As I have suggested, I have no
doubt that she will be highly successful and will constantly reflect those types of qualities which are
exemplary of your successful applicants.
