FRIDAY ASSEMBLY
The 5/6P assembly item at last Fridays school assembly started with a very moving
version of a Kate Miller-Heidke song called Caught in the Crowd. It is a song about a girl
who witnesses a boy being bullied but does nothing. This was followed by some short
skits that the students wrote themselves about bullying and what you should and shouldnt
do if faced with being bullied. It was great to see a serious message combined with a bit of
entertainment!! Well done 5/6P! Also congratulations to our fortnightly class award
winners who were presented with their certificates.

CAF 1/2H
1/2H have completed a series of learning
activities around a story called Mrs Wobble
the Waitress. Written by Allan and Janet
Ahlberg.

The students have enjoyed the story

immensely and as part of our learning, last
week we transformed our classroom into the
Midnight Moonlight Caf. I wanted to share
some of the students writing that came about
from the experience.

It was the best day ever. Yesterday Cohen was the chef and I was
a juggling waiter and Marc was too. We had lollies and cupcakes
and biscuits too. The customers were 2A and when they came in
me and Marc didnt juggle very well.
by Charlie Kelsall.

1/2H had been working on Mrs Wobble the Waitress. 2A came to

the Midnight Moonlight Caf, it was a blast! The caf was enjoyable
and lots of fun. We had readers and decorators. Emma was a Maitre d, Grace was a waitress. Damian was
a drink waiter, Sebby was too. I was a table decorator. I made all the fans with other friends.
By Jayne Bulluss.

Yesterday we had a caf and I was a Maitre d. It was fun!

The caf was called Midnight Moonlight and 2A came in to our caf. 2A were our customers. We had menus
too. I took Mr Alex and Mrs Arnold to their seats, it was a good caf. The waitresses were taking their orders.
There were juggling waiters, they were Charlie and Marc. We had fairy bread, lollies and cupcakes. Cohen
brought in the cupcakes and they were bubblegum, strawberry and banana.
There were readers and the readers were Savannah and Erin and they were quiet. We moved the tables and
we had tablecloths, flowers and fans. It was awesome!
We did not do any work. The lovely teacher is Mrs Bird.

SPOTLIGHT ON.. Matthew Cornelius

A couple of months ago, on the 26th February, my grandfather and I went to Roar and Snore at Taronga
Zoo in Sydney. Roar and Snore allows you to sleep over at the zoo and go behind the scenes for a midnight
tour. The tents we slept in looked out over Sydney Harbour and were very fancy with a wooden floor, power
points, lights and beds.

We did many things including feeding the giraffes,

seeing what the animals diets are and we got to
be the first people to do things in the morning. I
loved seeing the big gorilla, meerkats and Pygmy
hippo most of all.

Then we went and did a ropes course where there

were many different obstacles, 10 meters off the
ground.

I received this trip as a Christmas present from

my family. It was very fun and I recommend it to
everyone.
