The Profibus DP Interface Card connections are:
y Connecting Profibus Cable Input wires to the terminal block by terminals:
J1 A1 (Green)
J2 S (Black)
J3 B1 (Red)
y Connecting Profibus Cable Output wires to the terminal block by terminals:
J4 A2 (Green)
J5 S (Black)

y Terminators prevent distortion and signal loss.
y Terminators are an impedance matching module used at each end of the
transmission line.
y Two, and only two, per segment (end of segment).

Cable Length Restrictions
The use of repeaters expand the total segments length. This would only be necessary if
the additional cable was a long stretch.
y Total segment length is limited to 200 meters with a baud rate of 1500 kbit/s.
y The total number of segments can be 10 depending of the type of repeaters
(use vendor specs)
y Maximum admissible distance between two devices
(NO_REP + 1)* Segment length
Note: In the example above, the number of repeaters is 1 and the segment length is
200 meters.Therefore, 1 + 1 x 200 = 400 meters.
NO_REP = Depends on repeater type
