An Introduction

D
elhi University LL.B Entrance Exam (DU LLB Entrance) is conducted
by the University of Delhi, every year for admissions to three-year
law degree programmes in affiliated institutes of the University.
The Delhi University announces notification for admissions in the month of
March as the applications start from the next month.

The LLB Entrance Exam of DU is conducted at various exam centres of Del-


hi. It is a paper-pen test comprising multiple-choice (objective-type) ques-
tions from various sections studied till 12th standard.

Admissions to a total of 2611 seats in the LLB programme are offered on the
basis of merit and ranks secured by candidates as per their performance in DU
LLB Entrance Exam.

DU LLB Eligibility
Academic Qualification
You need to have a Graduation Degree from the University of Delhi or any
other Indian or Foreign University recognized as equivalent by Delhi Univer-
sity securing a minimum of 50% in aggregate of the subjects, if belonging to
General Category.
Those who belong to OBC category need to secure at least 45% of the total
marks in aggregate of the subjects while those belonging to SC/ST categories,
need to secure 40% as the qualifying marks.

Age Bar
As per the regulations of Bar Council of India (BCI), there is no age bar for fill-
ing in applications form for LLB programmes; therefore you can apply for DU
LLB irrespective of the age criteria.

Other eligibility conditions for DU LLB


Those who are appearing in the final year of the Degree exam of 10+2+3 year
pattern are also considered eligible for DU LLB Applications, subjected to the
fulfillment of minimum marks mentioned.
If you are appearing in your PG programme or have secured the PG Degree,
can also apply for DU LLB Entrance Exam subjected to the fulfillment of mini-
mum marks in the post-graduation degree. i.e., 50% of the total marks for
General category, 45% for OBC and 40% for SC/ST categories.

DU LLB Application Process

elhi University shall be inviting application form for the law en-
trance exam in online mode from the first week of April. You need
to register and apply through the official link provided. Once you
have registered online, you will obtain a Login Id and Password for filling the
applications.

How can I fill Application Form?


While applying for the law entrance exam of DU, you need to follow the step-
by step procedure as mentioned below
zzClick on the official link of DU LLB Application Form
zzClick on New User Registration button
zzEnter required details including E-Mail Id, Password and Mobile Number
besides Name and Address
zzOnce you have registered for DU LLB Exam, you will obtain a confirmation

mail in your mailbox mentioning your Login Id and Password


zzNow youll need to login and fill DU LLB Application Forms
zzOnce you have filled the application form of DU LLB including uploading
of photograph and signature, you need to verify all details furnished by

you and modify any of the information (if needed) and afterwards proceed
for remitting application fee
zzAfter remitting the application fee, you need to click on Submit button
zzOnce DU LLB Application Form has been filled and submitted, you need
to download the application and save a copy for future correspondences

Remittance of Application Fees


You need to remit an application fee of Rs. 500 (Rs. 250 in case of SC/ST cat-
egories) in online mode using Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking facilities.

Application Form Submission


No application forms of DU LLB need to be sent to the University office, how-
ever, need to be submitted online only after remitting the fees. You will also
need to keep a copy of filled DU LLB Entrance Application Form for future
correspondences.

Exam Duration 2 Hours (120 Minutes)

Total Marks 700

Marking Scheme You need to mark the correct option among four given
against every question. Each correct answer shall be awarded 4 marks and for
every incorrect response, 1 mark each shall be deducted from the total scored
marks.

Subjects The 175 multiple-choice questions (objective nature) of the LLB

DU LLB Syllabus
English including Comprehension The questions from this section will
include jumbled words/sentences, fill in the blanks, incorrect sentences, un-
seen passages, essay-writing etc. The questions will be of 10+2 level. The Uni-
versity will test basic knowledge of reading and writing skills of the candidate
required for the LLB programmes.

General Knowledge & Current Affairs This section will include ques-
tions from the recent happenings of national and international importance
and also general knowledge including Constitution of India. This section will
test the general awareness of candidates.

Mathematics (Numerical Ability) The section will include questions of


numerical ability and basic mathematics including percentage, profit and
loss, number system, average, algebra, AP, GP, etc. The questions will be of
10+2 level.

Legal Awareness and Aptitude This section of DU LLB Entrance Exam


shall test your interest towards the LLB programme. The section will com-
prise of basic questions regarding Indian legal framework and some of the
commonly used legal terms. Some questions will also be framed regarding
Indian Judiciary system.

Reasoning The section will test your knowledge of reasoning both analyti-
cal and logical.

elhi University issues notification for the LLB Entrance Exam in the
last week of March as the application begins from first week of April.

The University shall be issuing admit cards in the second week of May in
online mode which can be downloaded by entering Registration/Application
Number and Date of Birth, as the offline exam shall be conducted in the first
week of June.

The results shall be announced in the last week of June as counselling will
be held between third week of July and first week of August for admissions to
three-year LL.B degree programmes.

Counselling

elhi University will be organizing DU LLB Counselling between the
third week of July and first week of August of the admission year in
offline mode at the University campus.
The offline counselling includes various processes including document verifi-
cation and seat allotment followed by payment of admission fee.

Instructions for DU LLB Counselling


zzDU LLB Counselling will be held in offline mode at the University campus
zzDelhi University may organize as many as five rounds of counselling for
DU LLB Admissions
zzThe Central University will be organising DU LLB Counselling for each cat-

egory including General, OBC, SC, ST and PwD


zzThe counselling for DU LLB Admissions will be held at par the rank (merit)

secured by candidates in the entrance exam


zzThe University shall be announcing a counselling schedule and you need
to be present in person along with the required documents (mentioned

zzIn case, you are unable to meet the eligibility criteria for DU LLB Admis-
sions or cant attend the counselling, the seat shall be allotted to the next
candidate in merit
zzOnce the seat has been allotted, after verification of documents, eligibility

and other modalities, you will need to remit the admission fee for DU LLB
within the stipulated time; else your allotted seat will be transferred to the
next candidate in merit
zzOnce DU LLB Seat Allotment for each round has been done and the admis-

sion fees has been paid, no further communication regarding re-schedul-


ing of counselling will be entertained

failed to do so, it may yield in cancellation of candidature and also lose your
allotted seat for LLB admissions to the next candidate in merit.
