3. Activity
Divide the class into four groups and they will be
given 5 minutes to discuss what their perception about the
picture presented. They will choose one representative to share
their perception about the picture.
V. Generalization

Perception is a process by which an individual selects, organizes

and interprets stimuli into a meaningful coherent picture of the
environment. People receive stimuli from the environment through
their senses and through the help of the nerves that is responsible in
transmitting message to the brain. All of us has different views and
perception and with that we are going to understand, respect and also
appreciate other perception. There are two different characteristics of
perception first is limited to sensory discrimination which involves the
condition of the organism which it is the condition of the perceiver it
depends upon his/her condition in identifying the object that is being
perceived so when the perceiver is not feeling well or has an illness,
fatigue sleep deprivation so the persons perception is being affected
and properties of the stimulus like size proximity and illuminations are
properties of the visual stimuli which affects its discriminality and the
other characteristic of perception is selective and subjective it is the
process by which individuals perceive what they want to while ignoring
opposing viewpoints. Since attention is the basic factor of perception
so there are also external and internal factors of attention that our
perception can be affected. External factors are Intensity and size,
contrast, repetition and movement while internal factors are motives
and needs, sets/expectancy and past experiences. Illusion and
hallucination are the errors of perception. Illusions are experienced in
the same way by all people, while hallucinations are unique to the
individual concerned.
