PREFACE BY PROF. DR. DAVID ROBLES ORTIZ, COORDINATOR OF LANGUAGES AT IPN, ESE.
COMMENTS BY STUDENTS OF ENGLISH INTERMEDIATE II COURSE ABOUT THIER IMPRESSION OF THE COURSE.
Im Alejandra, and Im a Mexican. Im studying English because I work with North American companies, and in Mexico
nobody else import this material. Two years ago, the nephew of my boss who spoke English excellently left the job and I
decided to study English in order to fill in his place. The grammatical rules were very difficult for me. I think the problem
with me is that I like to translate literally. Another problem is that I have not master the grammar. My experience in this
intermediate level with Prof. Nchumbonga George was extraordinary. The classes were interesting because we had a for-
eign professor who was different in all aspects, beginning from his cultural aspect. The first class was a challenges for me
because the class was totally in English. I tried to understand each lesson, speak the language, but had complications when
pronouncing or giving the required accentuation. From the first time I entered the classroom and saw prof. Nchumbonga
dressed in the traditional dress of his country gave me an international experience and aspect which nourished my spirit,
and made me think of people living in another continent. It was great because it made me learn of other beliefs. However,
we share something in common which is ancestral traditions. This experience to me was a life experience which I will never forget! Thanks!
My Experience in the English Intermediate course by Milton Alexander Balderas Saldaa.
My name is Milton Alexander Balderas Saldaa. I'm 20 years old and I'm a Mexican. I am in my second year of Eco-
nomics, in my first semester of university. I realized the importance and the need to learn English in order to travel
and for the my future carrier. For this reason, I decided register for the English classes at the Economic School, where
I have observed the doors that the English language can open to you, such as understanding a song you like or even
reading new information about your career. This course (intermediate II) have opened my eyes to see beyond Mexico,
or nearby countries or those commonly spoken. Prof. Nchumbonga George taught us of about his Culture, their tradi-
tions, and the way in which they were raised. Speaking of the way in which he teaches, I have learnt so much vocabu-
lary, although sometimes it is very specific on a particular topic in life. I also learnt a lot about general culture.
My Experience in the English Intermediate course II by Laura Leticia Lugo Salcedo.
My name is Laura Leticia Lugo Salcedo. I am a Mexican and I am studying Medicine. I currently know and understand
that knowing English is indispensable for daily life and in my career, since all updated information is in English, so I
need to have a good level of English in order to understand medicine better. In addition, I would also like to travel
and know the world, and English is also indispensable for travelling, since anywhere in the world with English you
can communicate perfectly. Besides, prof. Nchumbonga George, being a great and internationally experienced person
has taught us about his culture and has given us great advice for daily life. Prof. Nchumbonga is a very good profes-
sor, who knows a lot of vocabulary about all kinds of topics. His way of teaching sometimes is a bit monotonous be-
cause he does not put any other type of didactic exercise where we can have contact with our classmates, but he is a
very good professor , and highly recommended. From this course, I have greatly improved my English skills.
My name is Isela Vlazquez Moreno, Im from the City of Mxico and I work in a advertising Company in the admin-
istrative and commercial area. I decided to study English because it opens the doors to great job opportunities. In addi-
tion, is a language that I like and maybe in the future, I would like to teach it. This intermediate course was fast, but I
think that unlike the previous ones, this was more clear and I had more confidence and the opportunity to dialogue at
length in English. Professor George is a person with much experience, very positive, happy and with a great sense of
humor, which made the classes very enjoyable. It was very interesting to exchange and learns from other culture and
customs with him. Well, I think that I have had more knowledge and confidence to speaking the language, from this
course. I have also gained much confidence in myself. Thank you very much!
Regards!
Hi, my name is Alejandro, I am a Mexican, I am twenty three years old. I like jogging at the park. Currently, I am studying
law at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). I am only left with two months to graduate with a bache-
lor's degree in law. I am studying English because learning a foreign language is a treasure. In addition, knowing the Eng-
lish language opens the doors to a better job and hence a well-paid wage. With regard to the class, I think that professor
Nchumbonga George Lekelefac has his way of teaching which is excellent, due to his great experience as a language teacher
in many countries. I was able to improve my English language skills and also to practice my English. It was a great experi-
ence for me. I am deeply grateful for such an opportunity. Thank you very much.
My Experience in the English intermediate course by Luis Herrera
My name is Luis Herrera. Im from Mexico City. I chose to study English because I think it is very necessary, not only job
purposes, but because it is a language spoken by a lot of people around the world. My history about the study of English is
very curious. When I was young, a child in fact, my father forced me to learn 40 words per day in English; currently, I for-
get a lot of those words that I learned. That was the first time that I first learnt a language. After that experience, in second-
ary school, I took English for three years, but its level was awful and, on many occasions, the professor wasnt there. In
high school, I had a similar story like in secondary school. Two years ago, I chose to learn English in CELE found in
UNAM. That was a very interesting moment in my life because, for the first time, I felt I was in the right place: the teacher
was very professional, my partners were very participatory and I was very active in class. I think the English intermediate
classes on Saturdays were very interesting because they were taught in my school. In addition, some of my economics
classmates also attended the course and lastly because the course was taught by an incredible professor called Prof.
Nchumbonga George. Sometimes, when a student says something good about his professor for purposes interest, in Mexico
we have an expression which is: hacer la barba. Well, I dont want to hacer la barba, but I want to say something about professor
Nchumbonga: he is a very good person because, even if it is not necessary, he tells us a lot of tips about everything; he has a very good sense of
humor and he tells us about his culture. I really enjoyed my classes of intermediate II. I think that best wishes is a good way to express my grati-
tude for all the things I have learnt at this level. Thank you very much!
