1. Explain the principles underlying the integration of digital


technology in mathematics education
2. Explain the examples of the use of the various digital
technologies in learning mathematics
3. Describe the major steps in integrating the various digital
technologies in various mathematical teaching approaches
4. Design and develop mathematics instructional materials
that integrate digital technology

Transferable Skills Oral Communication and information search through ICT

Synopsis of Course Contents The course is designed to enable students to acquire knowledge
on various digital technologies for the investigation of significant
mathematical ideas. Emphasis will be on the use of digital
technology in the secondary mathematics classroom for the
development of understanding of fundamental mathematical
concepts, enhancement of students mathematical thinking and
promoting students interest in mathematics learning. In this
course, students will develop worthwhile mathematical tasks that
integrate various digital technologies.
