Brief Description of Learning Experience: Over the course of a few weeks, we have been reading the
chapter book Wish Girl by Nikki Loftin. After we finish the book, the students are going to create a
video of their point of view that is different from the narrator or one of the characters from our chapter
book. The students will post this in our classroom blog under the blog post called Wish Girl Point of

Remembering Understanding Applying Analyzing Evaluating Creating

Student Engagement/Level of Technology Implementation (LoTi): The students will reach a Loti level 5 in
this lesson. The student will be using a computer to record their podcast. The students are very familiar with
this type of technology since we use it in class on a daily basis. The students will be sharing this with their
classmates and other classrooms students will be able to view their podcast on our classroom blog. The
students outcomes will be a very high-quality podcast. They will produce a podcast that is specific to their
own point of view.
Importance of technology: The project could not be completed without the classroom blog. I need to use this
blog because I already have permission to show their faces and their work by their parents. This classroom
blog is also a safe webpage for the students to post their original work.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy: There are two laws that will protect our students on our classroom
blog called CIPA and FERPA. The Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) requires that K-12
schools and libraries in the United States use Internet filters and implement other
measures to protect children from harmful online content as a condition for federal
funding. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal privacy law
that gives parents certain protections with regard to their children's education records,
such as report cards, transcripts, disciplinary records, contact and family information,
and class schedules. Both of these laws will protect the students and parents rights on
the classroom blog.
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity. I hope that the students will become more familiar
and more comfortable speaking into a microphone and recording their self. I hope the students will be able to
become familiar with how to use the Audacity software and also post the podcast online to our classroom blog.
