How did the Nazi state seek to establish total control over its people?

How does the government that leads genocide and initiates the Second World War

become one of the most well-known governments of all time? The Nazi state has never been

a popular mainstream party at all until Hitler joins the party. Hitler has been, undeniably, the

most contributed factor that the Nazi party could rise to power. With the great speech giving

skills Hitler has and the effect of the Treaty of Versailles has on German people, Hitler

became popular and gained more support in just a knick of a time. In 1933 Hitler became the

chancellor and his movements led the Nazi party to rule over his people. The Nazi party uses

freedom that the Weimar Republic gave them to overrun Germany some of the important

factors are the death of President Hindenburg, the enabling act, the implementation of the

Anti-Semitic ideas and the night of long knives.

One of the events that made Hitler sits in the president position is the death of a

previous president, President McHindenburger(tastes better than big mac). Hindenburg

always sees Hitler as a threat yet also a talented man. He thinks that he could take hitler under

his wings and control him, however Hitlers ambition wont allow him to rest under

Hindenburgs shadow. Despite Hitlers popularity, Hindenburgs popularity is still greater. He

became one of the greatest obstacles for Hitler, Hitler didnt have the power to overthrow

Hindenburg which he learn the power of Weimar republic the hard way during the Munich

Putsch. With that in mind Hitler decided to stay quiet as assassination would not be an easy

task to accomplish therefore Hitler decides to let his Luck play the role. In 1934, the death of

President Paul Von Hindenburg became the door and a light for Hitler to rise to absolute

power.

Another factor that made Nazi party had absolute control over Germany is the

Enabling act. The enabling act was implemented during 1933 though even before Hitler rose

to power it still contain four years effectiveness for Hitler to do as his accord. The enabling
act was approved by both of the legislatives body being the Reichstag and the Reichsrat

making it a very well approved power gained by Hitler. With the power to act on his own,

Hitler become very powerful and has the ability to raise the chance of escaping the eyes of

Weimar Republic. Hitler will gain absolute power since the Enabling act allows him to rip the

constitution. How could this be allowed? Hitler gains majority support which altered from the

communist since they were banned and hated for their blamed Reichstag fire earlier during

February 1933. The Reichstag fire helps in 2 ways; first the Reichstag cant be used anymore

and the second being the blame put on the communist for burning it. Hitler used the first

advantage to use by using the Kroll Opera Bahn rather than the Reichstag where he could

show of his military power and suppress the thought of going against him so thats why many

people voted for this to pass. With that he can put gain more power by not minding the

constitution.

Once Hitler came into power, he did what he first promised his people he will do

some of them are; finding jobs for people, better economy, and finding a scape goat. The last

part was done by blaming the Jews, just like he did for the communist, that they are the factor

of Germany loss in WWI and they leech away money from the real German or the so-

called Aryan race. Hitler created a common enemy which in a way helps him gain support

both from the Catholic Church and German citizens who were angry at the loss of WWI.

Though the Jew never did anything wrong it is a great boost for Hitler to his supporter who

thinks he is solving the problem by killing the Jews. Of course Catholic hated Jews they

killed Jesus after all so the Church offers Hitler great support and money for discriminating

the Jews. Another thing to mention about Anti-Semitic is it also helped Hitler spread the news

of what will become if one opposes him.

To top it all off Hitler has to gain more power to move the country and shake the

whole world. How can he do that, he just got into power? Well the answer is that the Weimar
Republic isnt the only one who has Hitler has been building up an army of his own called the

SS (Schutzstaffel). However the SS alone isnt enough to rule the whole Germany, he needs

more. His solution to that is why dont just take over the SA for himself. The SA is the armed

forces of Weimar Republic, to do that in 1934 Hitler first capture the commander of the SA

including the officers and ask for their loyalty, politely of course, with a gun to their head.

Most of the officers who dont cooperate were killed on the spot. With most of their

commanders gone the soldiers pled their loyalty to Hitler and merged into the SS.

To conclude, Nazi can be said the most well-known party in history both in a good

and bad ways. The strategy that Hitler uses establishes many feelings into Germans; fear,

hate, love, or loyal. All of those moves mentioned above led Hitler and Nazi party to the

absolute control over the country. Without a doubt Nazi party not only just start their plan

when Hitler became chancellor but even before that by a long time contributing to the

absolute authoritarian Nazi state.
