Hereditary Monarch
In Spains government, the
main role that the Hereditary
plays is being the head of the
state. In this position, they
can ratify laws, dissolve the
legislator and propose
candidates for the prime
minister position (Britannica).

Spain is a man known as Mariano Rajoy. The
main role of a prime minister is to rule the
government. Prime misters tend to lead

The King and Queen
The main role of the king or the queen is to
be the head of state. In 1978 it was passed
that Spain was to become a constitutional
monarchy. The kings and queens in Spain
are ruled by King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia,
and the two princesses Leonor and Sofia.
Usually, the monarchy gets passed down
from generation to generation. The kings
duties are:

Bicameral Legislator
There are many different approaches to how
Spain gets its legislation. The houses are made
up of the Congress of Deputies which is known
as the lower house, as well as the senate
which is known as the upper house.
The congress has 350 seats and are
elected into that position by popular

There are 250 people in the senate, but
only 208 get directly elected while the
 rest are appointed
All the legislators only serve a four-year
term
