O4A
a. FIPS
- Are a set of standards that describe document processing, encryption
algorithms and other information technology standards for use within non-
military government agencies and by government contractors and vendors who
work with the agencies.
b. MIMO
- (Multiple input, multiple output) is an antenna technology for wireless
communications in which multiple antennas are used at both the source
(transmitter) and the destination (receiver). The antennas at each end of the
communications circuit are combined to minimize errors and optimize data
speed.
d. Cisco FlexConnect
- Is a wireless solution for branch office and remote office deployments. It enables
customers to configure and control access points in a branch or remote office
from the corporate office through a wide area network (WAN) link without
deploying a controller in each office. The FlexConnect access points can switch
client data traffic locally and perform client authentication locally when their
connection to the controller is lost. When they are connected to the controller,
they can also send traffic back to the controller. In the connected mode, the
FlexConnect access point can also perform local authentication.
e. Band Select
- Band selection enables client radios that are capable of dual-band (2.4- and 5-
GHz) operation to move to a less congested 5-GHz access point. The 2.4-GHz
band is often congested. Clients on this band typically experience interference
from Bluetooth devices, microwave ovens, and cordless phones as well as co-
channel interference from other access points because of the 802.11b/g limit of
three nonoverlapping channels. To prevent these sources of interference and
improve overall network performance, you can configure band selection on the
switch.
