This refurbished building accommodates two different functions: an art gallery on the
ground floor and a beauty salon above. The existing structure and roof shape had to be
maintained, so the interiors and the facade provided the only scope for innovation. The
facade contains fragments of glass, arranged in a steel frame in such a way as to create
changing reflections and levels of transparency throughout the day. Diffracted light is
also a feature of the front of the gallery, where a clear glass platform, supported by timber
louvres, distributes the reflection of the pool below.
