A transitive verb is a verb that takes one or more objects.


This contrasts with intransitive verbs, which do not have
objects. Transitive verbs may be further divided by the number
of objects they occur with.

Although transitivity is traditionally thought of as an inherent


quality of verbs, some theories in linguistics treat it as an

Priming: Asking personal experiences about their first love/crushes

Activity: Listen to the song (and glance at its lyrics) and you may:

2. Draw images which you could associate with the song;
3. Write big words which may represent the emotion caught by the song;

Subject Compliments

A word that comes after a LINKING VERB and tells more


about the subject.

There are two kinds:


1. Predicate Nominatives (noun) PN
Noun or Pronoun
Comes after a LINKING VERB
2. Predicate Adjectives (PA)
Identifies the subject or refers to it.
ADJECTIVE in the predicate of a sentence
Example:
Mr. Richards
Comes is the mayor.

Example: The cat is crazy!

Application:
A. Find the predicate nominative.
