The newly released program version and download file name are as follows.
PCL: If Universal Print Driver is installed in PC with older than v2.0.2.0, the
following message is displayed and this version (PCL/PCL5: v3.2.2.0) cannot be i
nstalled.
"The printer driver is not a target for update. Please try again after updating
to Version 2.0.2.0."
Please be sure to install this version (PCL/PCL5: v3.2.2.0) after updating the v
ersion to v2.0.2.0.
It is not possible to update under the environment where Installer is not availa
ble.
It is not possible to update via Special Universal Print Driver.

2. What changed
================
2-1. The following issues are modified in this version.
1. If a paper tray is changed using Word menu, the preset paper tray is cha
nged automatically.
Due to the setting change for the paper tray of 4700P, the tray preset f
or another printers is changed automatically.
2. With LP4700-1/4000-1/3300-1/330P-2, if a specific PDF file is printed us
ing Universal Driver, the size of spool data becomes large and therefore printin
g takes time.
3. If two PCL6 drivers are registered on the same PC, the settings for each
driver are not maintained.

3. Restrictions
================
1. When you perform printing using the application, if you click <Printer Proper
ties> while the print queue status is in the process of connecting, an Error mes
sage is displayed.
Countermeasure: Click the <Printer Properties> after the print queue status i
s ready.
2. When you perform printing using the application (MSPaint.exe), if you click <
Printer Properties> of the print queue whose Device Information has not been acq
uired, an Error message is displayed.
Countermeasure: Perform printing using the application after acquiring the De
vice Information from <Devices and Printers>.
3. The Universal Print Driver does not work normally if EasyPrint setting in MS
Terminal Services Environment is disabled.
Countermeasure: Enable EasyPrint setting.
4. Important notice peculiar to PCL5 driver
4-1) If "Enable advanced printing features" is enabled, Poster settin
g is not reflected on the printed result because Poster function is disabled int
ernally.
4-2) If Overlay is used in Point and Print environment, the following
functions are not able to be used at the same time. (The following functions be
come disabled.)
N-up, Poster Printing, Booklet, Zoom, Binding Margin Shift, Ima
ge Shift, Watermark
4-3) If N-up and Booklet are configured at the same time, a part of t
he printed image is cut (the image is printed on a slant).
5. Important notice peculiar to PCL6 driver
5-1) If two PCL6 driver queues are registered on the same PC, the set
tings for each driver are not maintained.
6. Important Notice for printing in Citrix environment
If printing does not operate normally in Citrix environment, it may be impro
ved by either of the following procedures.
- By enabling "Enable advanced printing features" against the print queue
connected to Client PC and VDA.
- By disabling "Enable advanced printing features" against the print queue
of Client PC and enabling "Enable advanced printing features" against the print
queue connected to VDA.
4. How to install/ uninstall program
======================================
PCL: If Universal Print Driver is installed in PC with older than v2.0.2.0, the

To install the Universal Print Driver of this version and let it coexist with th
e UPDs of previous versions that has been installed without affecting these, sel
ect "Generic Universal PCL/PCL5 v3.x" for a driver name at the time of installat
ion.

4.1 How to install

a) When using Installer,
If your PC is 32-bit environment, please use "UPDSetup.exe". If your PC is 62-
bit environment, please use "UPDSetup64.exe". And follow the onscreen wizard to
do installation.
* In the following environment, cannot use the Installer. Please refer to c) o

- Microsoft Cluster Server
- Citrix XenApp 6.5/7.5/7.6/7.7
- Citrix XenDesktop 7.6 FP2/7.7
- Terminal Service (On 2008R2, Remote Desktop Services)
b) When install manually
Please perform installation using Add Printer Wizard in Windows.
4.2 How to un-install Universal Print Driver
a) When uninstall using Uninstaller
Please start up "Uninstaller" from any of the following and follow the ins
tructions of dialogue box to uninstall the driver.
- "Start" menu> "All Programs">"Generic">"Universal PCL/PCL5"
- "Control Panel"> "Add or Remove Programs"> "Remove" button of "Generic
Universal PCL/PCL5"

b) When uninstall manually

If uninstall the driver completely, please perform the following procedure.
When uninstalling UPD, if the folders or files are hidden, please change the s
etting to indicate the files and folders.
1. Delete the printer icon. (for all OS)
- From [Printers (and Faxes)] folder, right click [Generic Universal PCL/PCL5]
icon and select [Delete].
- If you registered the printer icon from [Add this Printer to my Printers fol
der] of Device Selector, please delete all registered printer icons.
- After deleting all icons related to Universal Print Driver, go to [file] - [
Server Properties] - [Drivers] tab and Remove [Generic Universal PCL/PCL5].
2. Delete entries from the Registry. (for all OS)
- [Start] button - [Run...] - input "regedit" - [OK], and start the [Registry
Editor].
- Please delete all the following keys and each sub-key by the Registry Editor
. (Differ in PCL and PCL5.)
(The existing registry key depends on the version of installed UPD.)

5. How to check version information

===================================
1. Open "Printers and Faxes".
2. Select "Generic Universal PCL/PCL5".
3. Right click on the icon and select "Properties".
4. Click "Details" button.
5. Click "Option" button.
6. Click "Version Information".
