Clinical verification on the pathogenethical symptoms of Anacardium or.,

regarding the general aspects of the Human Being

Dr. Claudio C. Araujo, M.D., F. F. Hom. (Lon.)

Summary

The subject of this paper is to call for the attention of the homeopathic doctors
that having symptoms emerged from the proving on the healthy individual or
single clinical symptoms (rubrics arranged in the way they are in our repertories)
is not enough when we are prescribing for the sick. Its necessary that all the
information from those data collection, gathered together around a given
substance, should be used mainly to give us a first approach to a general idea of
who is our patient, and to whom a given substance should be prescribed.
In this study, Anacardium or. exemplifies how the general comprehension of a
remedy could be obtained.
The pathogenethical symptoms were grouped together around single topics and a
comparison was done with the symptoms obtained from a series of homeopathic
interviews of five patients.
The Anacardium image is discussed in the conclusion.

Objectives

The purpose of this paper is to show how possible is to have a general idea of
whos the Human Being sensitive to the curative effects of Anacardium or.
through a comparison between symptoms from our Materias Medicas with
symptoms collected from our patients.

1
Introduction

The information used before and nowadays by most of the homeopathic doctors
all around the world, regarding the indication of our remedies are, basically, the
three great Materias Medicas: Hannemanns, Allens and Herings huge data
collection on information about the pathogenesis of thousands of substances.
New pathogenetical experimentation are nowadays been held and at the same
time clinical verified symptoms are also added to our repertories.
Therefore, to complement the information collected from our books, a
comparison between the pathogenetical symptoms of Anacardium or. and the
clinical symptoms obtained from a group of patients much helped during their
treatment with this medicine was performed. The goal was, as stated before,
through the patients own words, to obtain an explanation, direction and
meaning to the symptoms, giving us an idea of who is the Anacardium or.
patient.

Methods

Anacardium orientale (Mallaca nut) was first introduced as a remedy by the

arabs, many centuries ago, its indication being for several clinical diseases. But
Anacardium completely fell into oblivion up to Hahnemanns time. It was
brought back to medical use by Hahnemann, and it was homeopathically proved
by himself, together with his fellow collaborators.
The first observations were described in Hahnemanns Chronic Diseases.

The symptoms taken from those Materia Medicas, along with some hints
presented by Dr. Kent in his Lectures were first arranged in topics.
These topics are a natural result of a group of symptoms that were connected one
to the other with the same subject.

Common symptoms from those authors were all put aside, and the same
symptoms that appeared in different books were not repeated. It was quoted the
author after every symptom.

These topics are not in sequence or related by any way through a logical model.
As the papers purpose is to have a clear image of who is the Anacardium or.
patient, only mental symptoms were used. It doesnt mean that all the other
symptoms shouldnt be taken in consideration during and after an interview with
the patient.

Those groups are:
1. Indifference

2. Persecution

3. Future

4. Confidence

5. Violence

Patients:

L. T., female, born in September, 1981, my patient since September 1990.
A. V., male, born in June, 1987, my patient since August 2007.
P.B., male, born in April 1976, my patient since March 1989.
C.B., female, born on January 2005, my patient since January 2007
In some cases Anacardium was prescribed after some years of ups and downs
with relative successful prescriptions. But, after prescribing Anac., we finally
managed to cure the patient from his clinical symptoms, altogether with a
changing in his mental attitudes towards life.
So, those early symptoms were also included in our study, meaning that all
mental symptoms from these five patients, since their childhood, were taken in
consideration.

Discussion

Modern world translates itself to everyone through success and money.

Unfortunately, is the result of our income that shows to the world, on first hand,
who we are. It is through our clothing or how many travels abroad we made, its
from the type of car we can afford that we are recognized as winners or losers.
Comfort, power, expensive goods, beautiful women, luxury cars, good
restaurants, jewels, all the signs of a successful professional life are related to
money. And people fight for it, work hard for it, steal and kill for it.
It is all around us, its the tale of our time.
And, should we accept it or not, the greed on money belongs to Evil. As we waist
our lives for it or kill and steal for it or suffer for it, the greed for money only

18
bring us suffering and pain. Its a kind of a trap, and each and everyone feels
himself locked inside it.
We must also reflect on the internal nature of the Human Being: his primitive
nature, his feelings for survival, his inherited violence who promoted him as the
ruler species of this planet. We kill and eat almost every living thing that exists,
walks, flies or swims in this planet. We got an internal license to kill for survival,
to kill anything that can become a threat to ourselves. Ages ago we could kill for a
female or be killed by someone else for the same reason. Early tribes killed
themselves, as our modern wars, for land, food, women or simply greed for
power. Nowadays our governments kill millions of inhabitants for oil, for
cultural, racial or religious differences, for power and domination over other
countries.
This is our very own nature and evolution and civilization are a constant quest for
a better world, a better understanding between all the living beings from this
planet. Philosophy, Ethics, vegetarianism, sports, Yoga, healthy food and natural
environment, the caring for our natural resources, religion apart from fanaticism,
are all movements in the direction of a better world, a better place to live.
We named the primitive consent for killing and attaining anything through force
as belonged to Evil and the quest for a better understanding and evolution to be
named Goodness.
So we have Goodness and Evil in our everyday life. We have Duality as part of our
life; we are always fighting inside ourselves against the primitive impulses that in
early ages were a normal accepted part of our human nature.

Conclusion

Like someone who has no acquired social limits or self criticism of the things he
wants, Anacardium wants her mother or everything else for himself. Why should
he divide her beloved mother with someone else? Why shouldnt he get
everything thats around him? Why he shouldnt have all the things he wanted?
Hes not ashamed of feeling the way he feels. If beauty is something that each and
everyone of us, with no exceptions, wants, why shouldnt he? He wants to be the
best, the prettiest, because he soon discovers that the best students are
reverenced, the pretty ones are the most looked at, the winner takes it all.
Arent we also that way? Dont we look for the same things?
The difference here is that civilization, ethics and good willing can be avoided by
our patient. He can put those human achievements aside to fulfill his desires. Our
acquired conscience forbids acts against Right and Good. We learn since the
very beginning of our lives what is Right and what is Wrong. The conscientious
mother teaches her son not to take home other childs pencils, stating that this is
not Right. She educates her son on the righteous way, on religion, on Ethics, on
Moral feelings.

But the Anacardium patient doesnt take it for granted. He doesnt understand or
even accepts these teachings. He thinks: why shouldnt I be the one?

19
Why shouldnt be the beloved one, the prettiest one, the richest one, the strongest
one? Everyone around love these guys, why shouldnt he become one of those?
Society is dual on these subjects. It gives gold for the winner but assumes that
wanting to be a winner belongs to vanity and selfishness.
Anacardium can feel this duality very present in his daily life, strong as it is on
him. This schizophrenic information given from society, from our parents and
teachers provides him with a fight inside himself that tends to become a lasting
rupture.
Having a devil (Evil) in one side and an angel (Good) on the other is not a simply
delusion, but it exemplifies the conflict that runs our modern society and our
values. We watch on TV the soccer players making millions and on the other side
billions of people doing their hard work for peanuts, for almost nothing in return.
The Anacardium patient has an internal license to obtain what he wants with no
remorse. Thats the great difference between him and the others. He aloud
himself to long for things that are obtained only by those who follow Evil. He can
break social rules for money, if its needed. He asks his mother to sell the house
and give him his share.
If it is through money that everything can be attained, so lets have money at any
costs.
If being pretty is one of the greatest modern values, lets be pretty! Nice hair, nice
clothes, an expensive car, a worked out body, being able of daily sexual relations.
Longing for the pretty folks as well, for the Oscar, success, why not?
Hes also very cautious with his body, trying to avoid anything that can hurt it.
Anacardium is related to the remedies that are present in the Synthesis rubric
Cautious (from Dr. Jahr). But the meaning of being cautious, for Anacardium,
is that his body should be kept always pretty, strong, healthy and intact. It is
related to beauty in all aspects.
There is no Anacardium symptoms in our Materia Medica or in our repertories
about money, but is very simple to understand its importance to the Anacardium
patient.
And why he had so many enemies? Because people are in his way in order to
interfere in achieve his ambitions. He wants to become what everyone else also
wants. He knows that everyone is fighting for success, the difference being that he
got no rules, no moral values, no Ethics to follow.
Another reason is that he knows that hes taking a different path, that he chose a
way thats heavily criticized by everyone else. He knows that hes running against
everything thats part of evolution, Ethics and good will. He knows that he can
choose evil inside, meaning that he has a sort of a license to become the earlier
human being, a cave man kind of type, and no rules to follow. And he knows,
from our cultural acquired conscience, that he is not doing what he should do, he
will not do the right thing to be done.
Duality comes only as conflict between what he feels and what he should feel
from what he learned from the religious and moral concepts.

His relationship towards the others follows the same path: he wants others
affections only for himself, but nothing to give, only to have. He is the eternal
child, who longs to have all the attention drawn from the others. So love becomes

20
a fight for domination. He wants to have all the others affection, leaving nothing
to anyone else. Any sign of affection to someone else by someone that he loves
is viewed as he had been betrayed.
His frustration is always expressed through outbursts of irritability and anger,
temperament and violence. But it was not clear that he is violent to extremes, like
killing, fighting, stabbing and shooting. What had become clear to us is his dark
mood, his capriciousness, egoism and vanity, are enabling him to do some
mischievousness.
Lack of confidence was one of most important things. Several symptoms are
related to it. But again, he has this longing from being the best. This brings a sort
of finals year examination tension happening at every small test. They became
very good students, but only to be the best ones, longing for the golden medals.
Worn out people, due to this long and tiring effort, with fear of failure at every
examination, these symptoms all belonged to the Anacardium patient. But the
reason behind this effort is what counts for any remedys prescription.

Anacardium or. will be indicated for someone that has this quest for material
success in all its aspects. But he establishes for himself this quest with no moral
or ethical rules. He can use all resources available, even if these possibilities are
against common sense, against social and moral achievements. He can do it, if its
necessary.
Duality is present only because he was told by her parents or society what he
should or not should do. He can use Evil to achieve his goals, when necessary.
He is very cautious with his body, very worried about appearance and clothing.
And money is one of his major issues, as long as its related to comfort and
wealth.
