Mars Pgina 1
Rationale:
In the near future begins the exploration and colonization to Mars. There are projects
and studies for the start of a new era, exploring and colonizing Mars. Increasingly there
are companies that invest in these projects. But there is a title of Master specialized in
studies of the planet Mars. In the near future would be a good job to advise the future
companies who want to explore and colonize Mars.
Specialist training (technologists and scientists) in all areas related to the planet Mars,
giving access to the doctorate in space theme (technological or scientific research).
Provide adequate training to design, develop, and research in the field of science and
space technology: propellers, ships, launch, ways to colonize Mars and monitoring
stations, the development towards the exploration of Mars.
Develop knowledge and skills enabling them to deal with the resolution of complex
problems for which it is necessary to integrate and relate the apprehended in different
(and complementary) specific areas of science and space to be applied to the planet
Mars.
The duration of studies is four (4) semesters. Students are required to attend three
semesters of taught courses while the fourth semester is dedicated to the diploma
project.

CORE MODULES are mandatory taught modules designed primarily to deliver
academic program content and are broad and interdisciplinary in their scope.
The 12-week internship is usually carried out in a space organisation or other host
institution. Supported and advised by space university or others institutions, students
identify their internship opportunities in accordance with their particular
interests/career goals.

To be completed in full-time mode from September of one year to September of the
following year or in part-time mode by completing one or more modules per year within
a maximum of seven years.
A single module:
3. To allow students to apply the knowledge gained in the first year of the institution
apply relevant principles in a multidisciplinary context.

Team Project
3. To allow students to engage with and apply principles learned elsewhere in the course
and apply them in a context.
Individual Project
Internship
1. To allow students to apply their knowledge and skills to on-going activity in a real-
world space and Mars context.
2. To provide students with the opportunity to establish professional links within the
global space and Mars community.

Depending on their background and interests, students have the opportunity to
deepen their knowledge through more domain-specific optional courses, for a total of 20
ECTS, covering the domains of (A) Space Law, Policy, Business and Management, (B)
Space and Mars Sciences and (C) Space Technology and Applications, with the
possibility to combine the latter two.
For the masters thesis (15 ECTS), students are embedded in a research team of one of
the organising universities, or in an external institute, organisation or industrial
company, in which case an academic supervisor is assigned as the coordinator of the
project. The masters thesis is the final section of the interdisciplinary programme, in
which the acquired knowledge and abilities are applied to a complex and concrete
project.
