Action first node
Stop cluster environment
Take a snapshot of cluster configuration and copy output to /root directory

Take mksysb from both LPARs

Deinstall ifixes IV46104s3a, IV10197710
Reboot LPAR
Update operating system to AIX 7.1 TL3 SP4

Update filesets rsct.*

Check for existence of filesets as a pre-requisite

Reboot LPAR

Check whether clcomd is running

Add hostnames from both nodes to file /etc/cluster/rhosts
Restart clcomd subsystem
If applicable, delete volume group with heartbeat devices & also run chpv -c disk
name
Run /usr/sbin/clmigcheck
(for details regarding what option should be selected and what the output of the
command will show please see separate sheet 'clmigcheck' )

Update cluster filesets to PowerHA 7.1.3 SP0 first and then to

PowerHA 7.1.3 SP1
Eventually remove repository disk and add it again

Start cluster services without starting Resource Groups

In case that both cluster nodes will crash on cluster start install ifix IV72749s1a

Check version of clstrmgrES subsystem.

Should change from version 11 to version 15 after a while when cluster is active on
both nodes.
Configure cluster networks with "Collocation with Persistent Label"
Synchronize PowerHA cluster
Add second heartbeat disk to CAA configuration:
clmgr add repository <hdiskXXX>
alternatively there also a smit menu available:
smitty sysmirror --> Cluster Nodes and Networks --> Manage Repository Disks -->
Add a Repository Disk

Synchronize CAA configuration with second node: ' clmgr sync cluster '

Check /usr/es/sbin/cluster/netmon.cf for entries with gateways

Install efix IV73600s3a.150602.epkg.Z

Start test activities for cluster fail-over

Actionplan PowerHA Update
Remarks

ifixes will prevent successul update of OS

Run Update procedure twice; Otherwise

one fileset won't be on latest level (bos.perf.pmaix)
Warning 'clic_config(): kernel has higher version of kclic been loaded, exit.' during
update procedure can be ignored
Sources are available on /export/lpp_source/AIX71TL3SP4/rsct.3.0.7

List of filesets (part of the BOS installation filesets):

bos.cluster.rte
bos.ahafs
bos.clvm.enh devices.common.IBM.storfwork.rte

lssrc -s clcomd

stopsrc -s clcomd ; startsrc -s clcomd

Note which hdisks are heartbeat devices
name will be required for next step
Command will check whether current configuration
can be migrated and prepares some files for migration
Output will be documented in /tmp/clmigcheck/clmigcheck.log resp. In
/var/clmigcheck/clmigcheck.txt
Should be finalised with statement 'success'
Attention: If errors are reported, correct them in cluster configuration and do a
'Cluster verification and synchronization' before clmigcheck is started again.

Sources can be found on NIM server at:

/export/lpp_source/HA_V71/V7.1.3.0
/export/lpp_source/HA_V71/V7.1.3.1
Update cluster filesets to PowerHA 7.1.3 base and afterwards
to PowerHA 7.1.3 SP1

Check creation of CAA Cluster:

1. Heartbeat disk is member of VG caavg_private
2. run command 'lscluster -c' on both nodes.
For details on output of this command see sheet 'lscluster'
Sometimes clmigcheck failed with error message:
ERROR: Problems encountered creating the CAA cluster.
Use the syslog facility to see output from the mkcluster command.
Please check UUID of related hdisk with command
'lspv -u | grep <hdiskX>' . When they are different on both nodes remove disk on
primary node and run cfgmgr to add the disk again. After this UUID should be identical
on both nodes.
Re-run clmigcheck (Step 15) on secondary node.

lssrc -s clcomd

stopsrc -s clcomd ; startsrc -s clcomd

ifix is available at /export/lpp_source/HA_V71/ifixes/IV72749s1a

lssrc -ls clstrmgrES |grep CLv

CLversion: 15

smitty cm_service_ip

For confirmation that disk has been added run

'clmgr query repository '
Output should list both CAA disks

Check synchronsation on second node with 'clmgr query repository'

Output should be the same as on node 1
ip address of backup admin server for ffm04* servers: 172.17.164.20
ip address of backup admin server for muc04* servers: 172.19.207.12

efix is available at /export/lpp_source/HA_V71/ifixes/IV73600s3a.150602.epkg.Z

Verifying clcomd communication, please be patient.
------------[ PowerHA System Mirror Migration Check ]-------------

Your cluster can use multicast or unicast messaging for heartbeat.

Multicast addresses can be user specified or default (i.e. generated by AIX).
