Course Evaluation - SDring 2015

Course Name: Black American History Instructor's Name: Stacy Reikowsky

Course Number: 313 Department: History
CRN Number: 17355

l. What do you feel has been done well in the teaching and administration of this course?

The discussion in class allowed me to better understand the materials.

Stacy is great at adapting her lesson to suit where the class is. I love doing class discussion more than
document analysis. I also love reviewing before each fexam]'

She is very knowledgeable and I love using videosif, rlms and having more than one text book.

Lectures are very informative, and Dr. Reikowsky makes learning fun by including good readings and
videos.

I like the film integration-it's a good way to visually learn and analyze'

I do enjoy the lectures and educational & fun videos shown in class'

She makes her expectations well known, and teaches the course thoroughly.

Presents knowledge and information.

Everl'thing.

Very good and clear lectures. I like the books.

Clear, understandable ideas of Black American history.

2. What suggestions do you have for improving and strengthening the teaching and administration of
this course?

Maybe a quiz on readings.

Sometimes lectures get long, maybe find a way to break them up'

Sometimes, class seems rather long because of straight lecture for an hour and forty minutes.

Maybe longer discussions, giving everyone the chance to speak up'

Maybe making deadlines more clear. Less lecture would be beneficial too.

Sometimes lectures go on for a long time.

"
