His Excellency, Most Rev. Patricio A. Buzon, SDB, DD., Bishop of Bacolod,
raised a deacon and a brother of the Marian Missionaries of the Holy Cross to the
order of Presbyterate and Diaconate at the San Sebastian Cathedral last November
21, 2016, feast of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Rev. Pio John Christopher Ma. Herrera, MMHC is a native of Manila while his
batch mate, Br. Froilan Ma. De Atras, MMHC came from Bacolod City, Negros
Occidental. They entered the seminary in the year 2003 and both finished their
Philosophical studies at the Mater Dei College and their Theological studies at the
University of Sto. Tomas.
The event was attended by the family members of the ordinandi as well as
their friends, important guests which includes the religious and lay faithful of
Bacolod.
There is a shared buffet lunch at the Cathedrals Multi-Purpose Hall after the
ordination.
