Task 14: Photoshoot Planning

Plans for Photoshoots:

Product:
The product will be a teenage magazine called Moda
Theme:
Magazine cover 1 The theme to my first magazine cover will have a summer
kind of look, with loads of bright colours.
Magazine cover 2 The theme to my second magazine cover will be about
autumn and clothing to wear when it's autumn.
Magazine cover 3 The theme to my third magazine cover will be about winter
and what kind of clothing the magazine is suggesting to wear during the winter.
Magazine cover 4 The theme to my fourth magazine cover will be when it is
dark, basically just about the clothing people wear when they go out.
Model:
Male Model(s) Luke Dresser
Female Model(s) Alex Barnes
Locations:
Magazine cover 1 The location to this cover will be a brick wall with graffiti on
it.
Magazine cover 2 - The location to this cover will be on a park. The model will be
leaning against a tree with the rest of the trees/bushes/park behind him.
Magazine cover 3 The location to this cover will be in a park again, but this
time stood walking through the park.
Magazine cover 4 The location to this cover will be near a busy road next to a
bridge.
Equipment required:
The magazine will need to have the likes of:
DSLR Camera It will need this because it is what takes the photos.
Without this there would be no Photoshoot.
Props In some of the shots I may need some props. If they are
used I will be using an umbrella and/or a hat. These are just to address the
weather to the audience.
Costume The costumes will vary throughout each magazine cover:
Magazine cover 1 I am hoping that my model will be wearing, a black shirt
with a red jacket over the top with some black skinny jeans and Nike trainers.
Magazine cover 2 I am hoping that my model will be wearing a green shirt
with a bomber jacket with black skinny jeans and some trainers.
Magazine cover 3 I am hoping that my model will be wearing a beige coat
with a red/purple turtle neck on with ripped jeans and black boots.
Magazine cover 4 I am hoping that my model will be wearing a black top,
with a denim coat, with some black leggings and black boots.
Schedule:
Magazine cover 1 On the 21st December I will undergo my first photoshoot at
11am. I am doing it at this time to allow the colours to stand out as much as
possible and this will happen because of the bright lighting. I will be editing this
photoshoot on the 21st December at 1pm.
Magazine cover 2 On the 11th December, my second photoshoot will be done. It
will be done around 1pm to allow the lighting to be a little darker than the first
one, this is to allow the greens to stand out in the photo. I will be editing this
photoshoot on the 11th December at 3pm
Magazine cover 3 On the 3rd January, my third photoshoot will be taken. This
will have been taken at around 10am. It is done on this time to allow the greens
to be as bright as possible. I will be editing this photoshoot on 3rd January at
1pm.
Magazine Cover 4 This photoshoot will be taken on the 9th December at
4:30pm. This is to allow the background in the shoot to be just going dark and
then the full effect from the lights from the car lights will be fully effective and
the flash with allow my model to stand out. I will be editing this photo shoot at
9th December at 6:30pm.
Contingency Plans:
If something was to go wrong within my plans, for example:
If my model bails, I will have
a backup model of Adam Wareing.
If it is raining on any days of
my photoshoots, I will take many umbrellas but if it is too
much then I will have an alternative location of in my
back garden where it has a cover over the top of it.
If the camera battery dies, I
will take another fully charged one just in case. Not only
this, I will charge multiple different batteries just incase.
If anything from the risk
assessment goes wrong I will make sure that the location
is safe and that it is okay for the photoshoot to continue.
Legal:
Copyright:
The copyright law is to prevent anyones work (if thats artistic works, sound
recordings, films, musical, dramatic, typographical arrangement of published
editions) from being used by somebody else without your consent/permission. So
in context to my magazine covers, all of them will be my ideas and will not copy
any other magazines front covers.
Trespass:
The Trespass law prevents anybody going onto private land to get some sort of
information (for example, taking photos on the land, getting information from the
owner of the lands private life etc.). In context to my magazine covers this will
prevent me from taking the photos on private land. This will make me have to
take them in public areas.
Intellectual Properties law:
The Intellectual Properties law prevents anybody from stealing anybodys ideas.
The ideas have to have evidence that they are yours before you can charge
anyone for using them. This is because if there is no evidence then there is no
evidence you ever had that idea. This will apply to my magazine cover because I
will have to use my own ideas when it comes to the cover lines, locations,
masthead etc.
Obscenity Publication Act:
The Obscenity Publication Act is to ensure that nobody uses foul language in a
media product. It also prevents anybody offending anybody. This will apply to my
magazine covers because it will prevent me from using any foul language and
offending anybody in all four of my magazine covers, this will make me only use
formal language.
Ethical:
Liable and Slander
Slander is used in a radio advert, this is because this is the spoken version.
Liable is what would be in a print media product.
Gender
This ensures that both genders are treated correctly and the same. In order to do
this, they allow both of the genders to model on magazine covers (as 2 out of my
4 magazine covers will be male and the other 2 will be female, keeping the ratio
fair between the two). This prevents discrimination towards any of the genders.
Race
Similar to Gender, this ensures that every race is treated the same as all of the
others, preventing anything from discriminating any kind of race.
Disability
This is to prevent anybody who lives with a disability from being discriminated.
This will prevent anybody from making jokes, laughing or giving odd looks to
people with a disability. This creates a healthy working environment.
Sexuality
This prevents anybody from discriminating anybody due to their sexuality. This
ensures people with different sexualities are treated the same and treated
correctly so they dont feel different to anybody else. Again, this creates a
healthy working environment.
