Abstract
The goal of this experiment is to launch the rocket to the 20
meter circle target by using baking soda and vinegar. The
materials that we use to make a rocket are 2 bottles of coke, 5%
concentrated vinegar, baking soda, board, tape, corks, wood
board, tissue paper, colour spray and PVC. We use baking soda
and vinegar by letting them react and make chemical reaction.
The reaction produces gas for the rocket to be able to launch
forward. In the first trial, we set the ratio of 600 ml of vinegar and
40 gram of baking soda and the rocket drops at 25 meter which
above the target 5 meters. We decrease the fuel and set the
baking soda 500 ml and 30 gram of baking soda but our rocket
still go above the target 2 meter. Therefore, we calculate the
proper ratio of 400 ml vinegar and 20 gram of baking soda and
the result was successful, the rocket was drop at 20 meter.
Method
1. Prepare the materials. Such as: 1 bottle of coke, vinegar, baking
soda, board, tape, corks, wood board, tissue paper, colour spray and
PVC.
2. Measure the Vinegar 400 mL and Baking Soda 20 g.
3. Wrap the tape around the tissue paper that have baking soda inside.
4. Pour the vinegar inside the bottle.
5. Put the baking soda into another side of the bottle and use the cork
to close it.
6. Turn the rocket upside down. Then, the vinegar and baking soda
will mix together and form gas.
7. Put the rocket on the launcher.
8. Wait for few second.
9. The rocket will fly up and fall down to the target.
