CDAT visits CA, signs MOU with UPLB

The delegates of the Council of the Dean of Agricultural Science, Thailand (CDAT) visited
CA last March 13.

Dean Domingo E. Angeles gave a brief information about CA, its curricular programs as well
as its human and physical resources. Likewise, a video showing some of the pillars of CA, the technol-
ogies developed, and the graduates was presented to the delegates.
Associate Professor Theera Visitpanich, dean of the Faculty of Agriculture of Chiang Mai University
and chair of CDAT, introduced the 22 member delegates and the university that they represent.
The delegates also visited the Institute of Plant Breeding where Dr. Calixto M. Protacio, director of the
Crop Science Cluster, conducted a powerpoint presentation on the technologies that the institute has de-
veloped, its products and services including the manpower.

The visit of CDAT to CA is just one of its itineraries that include the signing of the Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU) on Academic Cooperation between UPLB and CDAT, of which CA will be one of
its recipients. Included as general areas of cooperation in the MOU are: exchange of students for study and
training programs; exchange of staff for research, lecture and academic extension; exchange of academic
information, research publication and other resources on relevant subjects; enrolment of suitable qualified
students into appropriate programs for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies; joint staff develop-
ment programs; shared curriculum development activities; and collaborative research.

Aside from Chiang Mai University, the CDAT also includes Kasetsart University, Maejo University
and Walailak University among the 30 agricultural universities that comprise its membership.
