My First 10 Years Developmental Psychology Project

In order the better understand the concepts and theories in our Human
Development Unit, you will make a scrapbook that chronicles your first 10
years of life.

Include the following:


What were some of your important physical development milestones in your first two years
of life and when did you reach them? For example: reflexes such as grasping, sucking, startle,
rooting, stepping, motor milestones such as raising your head, rolling over, sitting, crawling,
and walking, and speaking milestones such as cooing, babbling, and talking. (20 points)

What were some of your important social development milestones in infancy and early
childhood? For this section, discuss what kind of temperament you had as an infant, and if
this temperament still exists. Also discuss what type of attachment you exhibit and how this
attachment formed. (20 points)

What were some of your important cognitive development milestones? For this section, give
some evidence of how you behaved when you were in Piagets sensorimotor, pre-operational,
and concrete operation stages. It can be in the form of stories or pictures with captions to
explain. (20 points)

What were some of your important psychosocial development milestones


For this section, give some evidence of how you behaved when you were in the Trust vs.
Mistrust, Autonomy vs. Doubt, and the Initiative vs. Guilt, and Industry vs. Inferiority stages.
Again, it can be in the form of stories or pictures with captions. (20 points)

How did you develop morally?


For this section, give some evidence of how you behaved in the Pre-Conventional Level
(Punishment vs. Obedience and Pleasure Seeking). Again, it can be in the form of stories or
pictures with captions. (10 points)

What else do you remember about these years? What else sticks out in your memory? A
favorite pet or place, a certain experience? ( 10 points)

the theories and or developmental milestones being examined. Specific examples of each stage were provided along with

Good: The category was adequately addressed and supported with a good amount of written and visual evidence. The section
was generally well written and contained only some spelling and grammatical errors. Examples given were good and generally
brought to life the theories and or developmental milestones being examined. A good level of neatness and creativity.

Fair: The category was somewhat addressed and supported with limited written and visual evidence. The section wasnt
carefully written and contained many grammatical and spelling errors. The examples given were inadequate and did not bring the
theories or milestones fully to life. Limited neatness and creativity.

Poor: The category was not correctly addressed and/or was not supported with written and visual evidence. The section
wasnt carefully written and contained many grammatical and spelling errors. The examples given were highly inadequate and did
not bring the theories fully to life, or there were no examples given. Poor levels of neatness and creativity.
