Video Evidence Exposes Latest Labrosse/Canestrino Campaign Lie

HACKENSACK, NJ After having been caught red-handed lying about Councilman and
running mate David Sims resume in a post on the Labrosse/Canestrino campaign Facebook
page, Mayor John Labrosse seems to have suffered a complete break from reality. In a total
fabrication, Team Labrosse had claimed that Sims made history as the first African-American
Police Commissioner in Bergen County.

Caseen Gaines, Campaign Manager for Hackensack United for Progress, pointed out that no
such position is permitted under Hackensacks form of government and the Labrosse/Canestrino
Administrations own City Attorney, Joseph Morris, publicly advised Sims at the September 2,
2014 City Council meeting that there is no Police Commissioner under Hackensacks form of
government. Gaines asked that the fabrication be removed from their Facebook page.

Labrosse was seated directly next to Sims during Morriss admonishment to Sims and was still
seated next to him when Sims responded, I will rip up all those cards, referring to his Police
Commissioner business cards. Yet, in response to Gaines simple request to be honest with
Hackensack residents, Labrosse lashed out at the request for honesty, calling it a smear. He
then praised Sims work in cleaning up the Police Department despite holding no position
there, and despite Sims commission of a crime by posing as a law enforcement officer.

It is clear that the Labrosse/Canestrino Team is incapable of discussing their record or of ever
being truthful. Lies and attacks are all we can expect for the rest of the campaign. Gaines said,
referring to Labrosses delusional response. Even when the proof is available to the public,
Gaines continued, referring to the video of the September 2, 2014 City Council meeting posted
on the City of Hackensack website and YouTube. At the 38:00 mark, City Attorney Joseph
Morris advises Sims that there is no Police Commissioner under our form of government. At the
1:20:20 mark, Councilman Sims claims to have been enlightened and promises to rip up all of
his Police Commissioner cards.

Our Hackensack United for Progress candidates look forward to discussing their vision with our
residents, Gaines added. They will continue to take the high road while Labrosse continues his
slash and burn tactics, desperately using lies and intimidation to hold onto the position he has
used for his own personal enrichment.

Hackensack United for Progress candidates Lara Rodriguez, Jason Some, Michael
Williams, Carlos Merino and Rommy Buttafuoco have a long history of community service
and are eager to restore honest and responsible government to Hackensack. They plan to increase
ratables through responsible development and end the reckless borrowing which is destroying
Hackensacks future. They plan to hire and promote employees based on merit and put an end to
the cronyism and unlawful conduct of the Labrosse/Canestrino Administration.

Hackensack United for Progress is a broad-based coalition of residents, merchants and

organizations united to end the chaos and corruption of the past four years and put Hackensack
back on the path to success as a community.
