Thank You, From CVYR

Growth does not even begin to define what is happening out at CVYR. Not only is the ministry grow-
ing, but every one of our volunteers are growing as well. As we all work hard, we are continuing to dis-
cover God's divine purpose for this ranch and for ourselves. From every new project to every accom-
plished goal, God's glory is shown throughout it all and it is only possible with your help. We are be-
yond blessed by the donations and support that are given to this ministry. Not only does your support
impact CVYR but it also impacts the children who are desperately in need of the Gospel and the saving
grace of Jesus Christ. With your support we will be able to reach these children in need of an escape, in
need of a mentor, or just simply in need of a friend. The staff here at CVYR are growing more and more
eager to see kids walk through our doors. What we are even more eager for is being able to help a kid
hop on the back of a horse, and being able to connect in a way that is not only beneficial to them but to
the horse as well. We encourage you to come out and visit us, as our doors are always open. As the
ranch has opened we ask for your continued support, prayers, and encouragement. Thank you again
for aiding us in this journey that God has given us, and we can not wait to see what is in store for the
future of this ranch.

Love, CVYR

Department Updates

Horticulture Department
Our Horticulture Department has been undergoing
many changes as we are currently designing and building our
greenhouse and putting our fences up. As of now we are also in
the process of finishing up our garden boxes that the children
will be planting their seeds in. We will also be using a Square
Foot Gardening technique to ensure we have no wasted space
in our garden. Each child gets a garden box where they can
plant anything from vegetables to flowers. This is a place where
kids can learn about gardening, composting, and how animals
relate to horticulture.

Arts & Crafts

The Arts & Crafts Department is up and running with many excit-
ing projects for all children. We have received many donations from
our supporters which is a huge blessing. The craft room is constant-
ly improving with the donations we have received, which allows our
kids to be endlessly creative with the hands God has given them.
There is going to be bi-weekly crafts that each child can choose to
do. These crafts include: building bird houses, painting wood cross-
es, mason jar decorating, candle making, and growing crystals or
geodes.

Testimonial - Nikki Hash

There is no doubt that this property has been ordained and used by God in more ways imaginable.
Our sister in Christ, Nikki Hash, blessed us with a testimonial of how she came to the saving
knowledge of Christ on the land that has now been placed in the hands of CVYR for His Glory. This is
Nikki's letter:

"Testimony to the history of the property... God's Holy Ground...

When I learned that Crown Valley Youth Ranch was possibly going to be on the land that I
knew as the Van Dellen Ranch I heard celebrations in Heaven. Mr. and Mrs. Van Dellen
attended the same church as I did so I was aware they had used their property many times
for Christian activities. They had dedicated their land to serving the Lord. Next to their
home there were open spaces, pool, a recreation room, and a fire pit. Over the years the
property was improved with cabins for overnight meetings or weekend retreats. I have
visited there many times but the first time was the most special. It was the end of my
freshman year in high school (so this was a really long time ago), and I had been invited to
a youth activity on a Saturday evening. As usual there was fun to be had, moving from one
activity to another. But at the end of the evening we were all invited to sit around the fire
pit and a speaker started talking about God.
At that time in my life I hadn't spent much time thinking about God. I heard how God cre-
ated the earth and how He wanted a relationship with me. I sat there taking in all the
beauty around me, the deep sky with beautiful stars and all of the nature that was there
for me. The speaker continued to talk about how God created the earth and gave it to us.
Tears began to fill my eyes and I was so touched that God cared about me. The evening
ended with a bus ride home where I took in all I had seen and heard that night. The next
day I went to church still feeling God tugging at my heart. At the end of the service I went
forward and accepted Christ as my Savior.
Over the years I returned to the Van Dellen's for other activities. During that time, and
until their passing, their land was used to serve God. They had completely dedicated their
land to the Lord. I have no doubt they prayed over the ranch that it would be a holy place
to bring others into the saving
knowledge of a personal relation-
ship with Christ. As you move for-
ward with Crown Valley Youth
Ranch, please rest in the knowledge
that this property was given over to
the Lord many years ago and that it
will continue to provide a place for
God's presence in individual lives. It
is Holy Ground to be used by God.

Special Event Prayer Walk

To begin this long journey God has set before us, we found prayer to be one of the main
means of preparation. On January the 7th, we held a prayer walk at the ranch. Our hearts rejoiced as
people came flooding in. Our lobby was practically overflowing as believers from near and far gath-
ered to stand in the gap with us. After opening with prayer, we sang worship songs to the God of glo-
ry. After worship, everyone split off into groups to pray for any part of the ranch they chose. Before
we split up, we made it a priority to pray. It was a spirit filled time. A mother of one of our first kids
decided to pray as well, but none of us were expecting such a powerful prayer. This mother praised
God for how strong the spirit was in the building. She was so moved that every word she uttered
turned into a cry to God the Father. As she cried out to God in her brokenness tears filled all of our
eyes. Her prayer began to mimic that of a melodious psalm, more beautiful than any love sonnet ever
written. She not only praised God for His good work, but she also wept for herself and the other par-
ents who desperately need help with their children. She wept in her own heartache and in that she
received healing. The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their trou-
bles. Psalm 34:17. This is the cry that we want to echo throughout our ministry one of grateful-
ness and surrender. The prayer walk was a blessing to us all, and with that we are so eager to see
what God has in store for each of us.

A Word From Scott

We are excited for this new season at the property and finally get to the real reason and pur-
pose of why we are here to watch God work in lives through us! Its been a real roller-coaster ride
so far, complete with moments of disappointment and also exhilarating times when God blesses and
provides far beyond our expectations. Even in those times when things don't go so well, later we can
look back and see that God had something better. His protection and guidance has tested and
strengthened our faith. It is an honor to be part of His plan and watch it unfold before us.
It has taken so much to get us here. The renovation of our main building, cleaning away brush
and trash, reroofing two buildings, updating the on-site residence, building corrals and fences, hun-
dreds of volunteer hours, spiritual warfare, tractor work, sweat, skinned knuckles, training volun-
teers, and constant prayers. After all this investment and hard work I have recently come to this con-
clusion its worth it! Seeing the kids come through our doors with all kinds of issues (some not so
obvious) and listening to their stories can be heartbreaking. They have gone through tough times yet
are resilient and eager for the attention of a friend and mentor. Armed with the Good News that Je-
sus loves and cares for them creates great opportunities for discipleship. What an exciting time!
Please continue to pray for us and the children and families we minister to. We have many
challenges ahead and our enemy has us in his crosshairs. Prayer is more important than ever.
