Title: Landing Gear stress and Fatigue Analysis

Abstract:

This project was carried out with the reference data of a Boeing 777 aircraft under the landing
conditions. In addition, the main part of the landing gear, shock strut, originally incorporated
an oil-pneumatic type shock absorber. We will be replacing it by a spring shock absorber and
we will try to verify its feasibility as an alternative solution.

We are thinking to propose an arrangement consisting of piston assembly, connecting rod and
landing gear. We plan to do fatigue and stress analysis of the landing gear where cyclic stresses are
produced by piston assembly.

Both the systems are connected through connecting rod which transmits the forces. The analysis
involves various parts like of piston cyl. connecting rod, landing gear and bolts.

Or alternatively as you suggest, we will keep our complete focus on landing gear and will be doing
complete analysis on landing gear and its analysis only.
