The Central Cabinet is constructed for desk mounting Page.8

or wall mounting Page. 9.

The central cabinet of one unit, containing:

1. Working lamp
2. Two or Six detector groups - 1 accommodation and 1 engine room
or 2 accommodation of 2 engine rooms with belonging indication
for fire and fault.
3. Internal acoustic sounder
4. Relay for control of fire bell, fire and fault relay
with each a set of potential free change over switches.
5. Function test respectively of fire and for fault in the
two detector groups.

B. M O D E O F O P E R A T I O N

The central cabinet is in normal state:

The central cabinet is connected to primary and secondary
power supply with 24 V DC rated voltage.
All lamps are dark, except for the green working lamp mark
"Mains".
At voltage drop-out from either primary or secondary power
supply the following is indicated:

A. Green pilot lamp labelled "Mains" flashes

B. Internal acoustic signal
C. Faulty relay changes over

You can reset by the push button labelled "Reset". Then:

A. The internal acoustic signal stops
B. Fault relay change back to normal condition
The green pilot lamp does not stop flashing until both
primary and secondary voltage is connected to the central
cabinet and you have reset by the push-button labelled "Reset".
Mode of operation of the detector groups:

The detector groups are working after the one-loop-principle

where the detectors are parallel connected to the line and
the line is finished with an end resistor. The end resistor
determines the current of rest in the loop.

If the fault has stopped the light in the yellow lamp mark
"Fault" of the group in question stops, if the fault is
stationary, nothing happens.

The yellow fault lamp of the group in question will not stop
lighting until the fault has been repaired and the button mark
"Reset" has been pushed.

Fire Alarm:

Fire Alarm occurs when a detector has been released. At release

of a detector a resistance is connected parallel on the line
(parallel with the end resistor) then the current (no-signal current) will increase.

Fire Alarm is indicated by:

A. Internal acoustic signal

B. External acoustic signal
C. Fire relay changes over
D. Light in the red fire lamp of the group in question

You can reset by pushing the button mark "Reset", then:

A. The internal acoustic signal stops

B. The external acoustic signal stops
C. Fire relay changes back to normal condition
D. If the detector is in normal state, light in the red fire
lamp of the group in question stops lighting - if the
Detector is in alarm state, nothing happens.

The red fire lamp of the group in question will stop

lighting until the detector is in normal state and the button
mark "Reset" has been pushed.

If the central cabinet looses it is working voltage, the green

working lamp mark "Mains" goes out.
C. F U N C T I O N T E S T

Test of fire is achieved by pushing the button placed below

the red fire lamp.

Indication as mentioned in the passage about fire alarm.

Test of fault in the detector loop is achieved by pushing

the button placed below the yellow fault lamp.

Normal state.
A fixed current of rest passes through the loop. Both the
fault and fire alarm lamps are dark.

Fault Alarm
If a loop is broken the current of rest ceases and the group in
question will indicate "Fault".

Fault is indicated by
A. Internal acoustic signal
B. Fault relay changes over
C. Light in the yellow lamp mark "Fault" of the group in
question

You can see reset by pushing the button mark "Reset", then:

A. The internal acoustic signal stops

B. Fault relay changes back to normal condition

Indication as mentioned in the passage about fault alarm.

Test to fire alarm bells are achieved at the same time as test of
fire is done.

Test of power supply fault:

Is obtained by switching-off of primary and secondary power
supply of by removing primary of secondary fuse in central
cabinet.

D. RESET OF DETECTOR WITH ELECTRICAL MEMORY

Detectors with electrical memory and which are connected with

the central cabinet can be reseted by pushing the function test
button "Fault" of the group in question, then te detector loop
is broken and the connected detectors are reseted.

Installation instruction for automatic fire alarm and fire

indication system, type 815.5-6 (2) GL.

1. The central is mounted on the navigation bridge as the screw

for the 2 upper holes in the cabinet are screwed in the bulk-
head until approx. 3 mm from the bulkhead surface.

The cabinet is "pulled" down over the screws and kept to the
bulkhead by means of internal mounted plate springs.

Further the cabinet is fastened with a third screw at the

bottom in the middle.

2. The detector group/s is/are connected with the central

cabinet; remember the end resistance at the last detector
in each group; and so are fire bells and voltage supply 24 V.

The central cabinet is put back into normal state.

3. The system is ready for tests, which are to be done according

to the check list, see this.
