 What an interesting Winter Season or the lack there of. Spring has been springing since the sec-
ond weekend in January and the spring bloom is in full swing. Pollen is here, the azaleas have
done their thing and Mardi Gras has Mardid out.

What a picture of life today! In the busy, hustle and bustle of everyday life the seasons run to-
gether or feel as though they are out of whack with each other. Of course, we cant adjust the
weather, maybe the thermostat, but not the weather. However, there is something we can do to
help; take Gods advice and SLOW DOWN. Well actually He said, be still and know that I am
God Psalm 46:10. Have you ever wondered why God would tell us or command us to be still?
The Hebrew language literally means to LET GO. As though the Christian life is like a song
from a Disney movie. But wait, it is just like that. We need to let go; let go of whatever we are
holding onto more than holding onto God. If we hold something, anything, closer than we hold
God thats idolatry: our spouses, our children, our jobs, our homes, our friends, our whatever we
hold closer to our hearts than God we need to let GOD into those places. Irony at its best is
when we hold the THINGS God gave us
closer than the God who gave those things
to us in the first place.
