directly to the space via a dedicated OA
system (DOAS).

This method allows the dedicated OA ERV

system to handle all of the OA conditioning
load and allows the Daikin system to be
sized for the internal load only. This method
can be used for applications located in any
type of climate and situations requiring any
amount of OA. Benefits of the separate
method include the ability to introduce any
amount of OA needed and large amounts of
OA where required.

Make sure that the DOAS system is

designed properly so that the incoming
OA does not cause short circuiting issues
with the Daikin indoor units or influences
any remote temperature sensors. Also, be
careful not to introduce too much OA and
Figure 14
over ventilate the space. This only wastes
energy and increases operating costs as
both the OA equipment and the Daikin
system have to work harder and longer than
necessary. Make sure that the equipment
selection and control methods used bring in
the appropriate amount of OA, but not more.

For Intelligent Touch controller applications

for controlling ventilation fans and dampers
devices, the method and equipment used is
the same as described above.
