Good Afternoon 2nd grade families,

I hope you had a restful weekend. It was quarter past

We are just about finished with presenting our African symmetry

American Quilt Projects. The students are doing a great job and

Parent-Teacher Conferences begin this week and will adverb

Wednesday, March 8 is Spring Picture Day. Students may stratus

What We are learning this week:

In reading we will focus on describing the connection bet ween a series of historical events or
steps in a technical procedure. In grammar we have been using adverbs in a sentence that tell
how and will now focus on adverbs that tell when and where. We will begin our unit on
informative writing with writing a biography about a classmate. In math we have moved on
from money and are now learning about telling time to 1 and 5-minute intervals. We are also
learning about elapsed time. In Science we began our new PLTW unit on weather and the water
cycle. In Social Studies we will be learning about the significance of Presidents Day.
