1) A food store shelf contains x cans of food. 2/5 of the cans are canned fish, 50% of the cans are

3) i) Johan has 4 times as much money as Pedro does. If Johan gives Pedro $39, then they will have
the same amount of money. Find how much each person had at the beginning
ii) I earned $x in 2009. The next two years my employer gave me a 10% increase in salary

iii) Use the diagram to estimate the shortest distance, in km that you have to walk in order to get

6) i) A pizza has a radius of 12 cm. Tom cuts out a 60o slice. Find the area of the slice of pizza that
he has cut out.
ii) A square-shaped grass plot has an area of 144 m3. A pole is erected on the midpoint of one of
the sides. A goat is tied to the pole with a 12-meter rope. Calculate the total area of the grass that the
goat can eat. (2 dp)

1) i) Find the HCF and the LCM of 42, 180 and 288.
ii) Buses A, B and C depart a terminal every 10, 15 and 25 minutes, respectively. The routes run
from 7am to 10pm every day. How many times will 3 buses depart together during each day?

Binary numbers only use the digit values 0 and 1. In binary number, the place values of each digit are
integer powers of 2, instead of integer powers of 10.
