ALUMNI MANAGEMENT AT PONDOK PESANTREN NURUL JADID

Introduction
The success of education is also a
responsibility of the alumni. Alumni should
the public not just the general public, but the
alumni are people who have union in spirit
with an educational institution, which has
been formed during their study. Alumni of
the school is an asset that should be
managed by the schools so that graduates
can be empowered in accordance with the
needs of the school. However, some
educational institutions cannot manage its
alumni well.
According G.R. Terry (Sule, 2008: 9),
management of alumni, there are four
processes that can be done, namely
planning, organizing, actuating, and
controlling. To realize the system in the
management of alumni, we need an
organization that can overshadow the alumni
in the process. This organization was later
called in the form of alumni organizational,
alumni united, or other similar organization
name. Alumni organization managing the
alumni by adjusting the potential possessed
by each of alumni, so that the output
required in accordance with the expectations
of an educational institution. The main
purpose of the alumni management is to
empower the alumni.
The majority of educational institution
have not look after yet role of alumni to
improve the school. We can look at at many
schools, the existence of alumni is just
reunion without other management. So, the
relationship between school and alumni is
lost, is not like when the alumni become
student at school. That is the caution why
alumni do not participate to make the alma
mater well.
To improve the theory of management
alumni, researcher takes the real application
of management alumni at Islamic
educational institution. Researcher takes the
place at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid.
Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid has managed
the alumni well, although the alumni are
very much and spreaded at many regions. It
has alumni organization thats named
Pembantu Pengurus Pondok Peseantren
Nurul Jadid (P4NJ). Alumni organization is
like connector between Pondok Pesantren
Nurul Jadid and its alumni. P4NJ help the
Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid to improve
the institution.
