Review (50 words):

A book suitable for early childhood teachers but content could also be used for early primary. The useful book contains sheet music, lyrics for
nursery rhymes and songs, also craft ideas and recipes to make for and with children.

Using nursery rhymes with hand actions to improve hand eye coordination.

This is a childrens picture book which features a Dad and his kids who ask where their mum is. The story depicts the childrens imaginative
scenarios of their mother being side-tracked by different fairy-tale characters on the journey home. This story provides opportunities for
children to reimagine classic fairy-tales in everyday situations

Description of Usage (50 words):

Students could use this resources pictures as stimulus for:


Tableaux - recreate the pictures in the books
Role play act out a scene of Mum being side-tracked by fairy-tale characters
Hot seating developing questions to ask mum, such as: where has she been and what has she been doing?

Arts: Live is a free interactive website which provides resources and activities for students and teachers in Australia. It includes whole
lessons and provides information and links to Australian curriculum documents. It not only has resources for drama but also other creative art
forms.

Description of Usage (50 words):


Choose an activity, for example Improvisation starters, follow the interactive links
Have class discussion and explore the activities from the videos such as focused walking either as a warm up for a drama lesson or
as a lesson focus.
Students can complete activity sheets (from website) which require them to apply what they know about the elements of drama which
they have been exploring.
Also, content on the worksheets could be used for a discussion or further exploration.

Script writing for the role play.
Exploring dramatic elements: how can students demonstrate they are in space by utilising different elements?

This app requires one person to act out the scenario, person or object which appears on the screen and another person to guess what they
are acting. There are different categories to choose from within the app and can be played with many people at the one time.

Description of Usage (50 words):


Use Heads up as:
A warm up activity and select a category within the app which aligns with the focus of the lesson.
Activity to develop either verbal communication or non-verbal communication (such as mime).
Way to explore improvisation.
Exploring real life and fantasy situations based on categories selected.
Building character acting out famous characters by portraying their particular attributes.
Save or share the recorded video of activity for assessment or show to students and they can self-assess (or reflect).

Activities which allow students to explore and experiment with art materials there is no final product but the process.
Colour matching activity: students are given a colour sample and compare it against objects in and around the classroom. Discuss
colour, tint, tertiary, primary colours, etc.

Use recycled materials to create art works such as a grocery bag kite (make links to HSIE by discussing why people recycle and the

Explore different artistic tools and how they can change the overall look of an artwork.
Plan students artwork before creating it with real materials.
Share artwork with parents/school.
Collect artwork within the app in folders and use as a portfolio assessment.

This video provides opportunities for students to explore basic locomotor and non-locomotor actions of dance in a safe and fun way. As the
movements are simple and accompanied by lyrics, it is easy for even early years to perform the movements regardless of their capabilities.
The Learning Station has a wide range of videos which encourage children to be active and get moving in order to have a healthy body and
mind.

Description of Usage (50 words):


Use a dance lesson idea, such as Star Wars Dance of the Storm Troopers
To ensure participation and interest of both genders by providing a relevant topic for the dance.
Teach students the suggested movements
Ask students to think about how they might move in outer space based on their knowledge of Star Wars movies and other knowledge
of space.
Have students create dance sequences in small groups incorporating movements from the Star Wars dance and movements of their
own creation.

This resource can be used to:
Teach students to work cooperatively with others (untying the knot activity)
Bodily awareness (untying the knot activity)
Learn basic locomotor and non-locomotor movements.
Learn to move body parts in time with music.
Develop balance and motor skills (exploring different ways to turn on the spot)

This app connects to larger screens (such as TV or laptop) and the user follows the movements of the dancer on the screen. Users score
points for being in time with the dancer and music and following the movement sequence.

A warm up activity and then discuss the dancing elements used to perform the dances.
Use as a large group activity for keeping in time with beat and the movement sequence.
Develop movement sequences based on movements explored in the app and perform for class or larger audiences.
