Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.

My name is Megan Quilitzsch and I am a 5th year
student working to obtain my degree in Elementary
and Special Education from Grand Valley State
University. I will be student teaching in your childs
classroom alongside Mrs. Bradford, from now until
the middle of December.

My role in the classroom is to teach, assist, and

observe your child in their learning environment. Mrs.
Bradford and I are very focused on identifying your
childs individual strengths and weaknesses and
finding techniques that will help them be successful.

I have previously spent time teacher assisting at Lakeshore Middle School in Grand
Haven, and student teaching at Lincoln Development Center in Grand Rapids. As part
of my work towards becoming a teacher I will need to videotape some the lessons that
I teach in your childs classroom. These videos are for professional review with my
instructors only. If you have any questions or concerns I can be reached through Mrs.
Bradford, or Sand Lake Elementary.

In 3rd grade we strive to help students become strong readers. I hope that by sharing
my love of reading with your child that they will learn to love reading as well.

Some of my favorite books:

Out of my Mind by: Sharon Draper
Where the Sidewalk Ends by: Shel Silversteen
Little Critter Stories by: Mercer Mayer

I want to thank you for this opportunity to work with your child. Working alongside Mrs.
Bradford, I hope to help your child grow academically. I am very excited to work and
learn with your child over the next few months.

Sincerely,

Miss Megan Quilitzsch (Miss Q)
