We conducted our 3rd Seminar in the Career Center.
The seminar is all about 3D printing and our speaker
is Engr. Jopeth Ramis. The 3D printing is a very interesting topic. It refers to processes used to synthesize a three-dimensional object in which successive layers of material are formed under computer control to create an object. First, there is a workshop about SOLIDWORKS. Engr. Ramis taught us the basics of SOLIDWORKS and after that, we were able to design on our own. After the SOLIDWORKS workshop, we were asked to transfer in Rm. 303 and there, we were able to see a 3D Printer. 3D Printers were really expensive and I think that it is very useful especially in the future but it also takes a lot of patient in printing because it takes time and sometimes, you dont get what you designed. It means there is wrong with the design or you used the wrong material. The speaker also taught us how to choose the right material. This seminar is really important for us in the future, because in the future, we can print organs, through the help of tissue engineering, and it will help many people, especially those who cant afford organ transplant, and it can also save lives. -Maria Mikaela Verga Pelagio
