Curriculum is the document that gather data on personal characteristics, trainin
g, work experience and / or work performed by a person seeking employment, auton
omic activity, or specific posts. How to make my resume? This is a common questi
on, and offer a good curriculum vitae that can be completed by the applicant for
a job or internship is usually a good response. But many people in search of a
place or an opportunity to interview fall into a common trap: always look for th
e same models of curriculum and they seem just "one in the crowd" since the firs
t time the recruiter has your contact information .
It is for this reason that Efetividade.net goes further: in addition to offering
free resume templates and documents, also explains how you should fill them and
customize them to stand out without crossing the line, ensuring a greater chanc
e of getting positive attention from your future employer. Model curriculum for
download already looked at many resumes poorly produced, and therefore try to do
my part for which candidates really interested in a first job, temporary job, i
nternship or even replacement may have some reference ;-)
Begin by downloading the above model, which was originally developed by Efetivid
ade.net here and has been featured in the magazine Veja. The file is available f
or download in three different formats you can choose:
• • • •
Download the model curriculum in Open Document Format: the file in ODT format ca
n be opened and edited in OpenOffice or another compatible editor. Download the
model curriculum in DOC: The DOC format file can be opened and edited in Microso
ft Word or another compatible editor. Download the model curriculum in PDF forma
t: PDF file can be opened and consulted freely, but can not be edited. curriculu
m with little experience: Model completion for those who have little professiona
l experience, in a format for viewing or editing on your computer, ready to fill
.
This is a model of only one page, ideal for those who are seeking their first jo
b or replacement. If you do not have enough data to "fill" your resume, follow t
he tip of professionals to increase their employability: use of their time avail
able to attend events organized by SENAC, SENAI, SEBRAE or other entities to pro
mote the market, and its curriculum will automatically be enriched - generating
an advantage over their classmates who are on the same quest, but whose resumes
remain a great void. Note that special care was taken to avoid the effect of "bl
ank sheet". The left margin was enlarged, the titles of the sections are in cell
s that occupy much of the line, typographical and other tricks were employed to
ensure smoothly filling the space. Note that the obvious tricks, jumping in the
eyes of any evaluator - how to increase the font size and spacing - have been co
mpletely abandoned. If you want to use this model, the ideal is that you only vi
ew (preferably PDF) and build your own file from it, so it is not identical to t
hat of any other candidate for the same vacancy. After completing your informati
on, see the tips of these additional items:

Create your professional resume and keep it updated is one activity that helps t
o visualize the progress of his career, and can make a difference in time that y
ou need to compete with others for a spot, especially when there is a pre-select
ion (the from
curricula, with no chance of an additional contact) to see who will move to the
phase of interviews. Due to my professional activities, I analyze dozens of resu
mes from professionals in IT every year and always impressed me as people with s
o much intimacy with the computer may have so little idea about making a documen
t easily readable, understandable and searchable. I often have the unpleasant ta
sk of pre-selecting only the curriculum people to schedule interviews for the po
sts more contentious, and when that happens, the manner of presentation of the c
urriculum is very important.
Contrary to what the candidate might think it does not mean that he who has the
fanciest curriculum takes advantage (albeit indirectly light), but that those wh
o send a resume sloppy or incomplete end up getting back, because the essential
information to making my decision just not being as accessible as they should -
and it certainly says something about the trader who sent that document. The tip
s below talk about content and formatting, and were constructed from a series of
articles available on the Internet (referenced at the end) and my own experienc
e. They do not apply to both academic curricula (Lattes and stuff), but can make
a crucial difference to you being selected for the next wave of job or internsh
ip that you are competing. You are reading the first part, concerning the conten
t of your resume. The second part, on what to do and what to avoid in the visual
formatting of the curriculum, is now also available right here on Efetividade.n
et. Read also: Job interview: How to do well
10 tips to create a content model curriculum fancy
When someone is examining whether or not to hire you or call you for an intervie
w, there is a certain set of information that person needs to have on hand and i
t is up to you to find this balance point, lacking any essential fact, or place
unnecessary information that may hinder analysis. Follow these tips: 1 - No hurr
y. Prepare to spend some time with the task of creating your resume it will not
be ready in 10 minutes, and certainly will be time well spent. 2 - Make a diagno
sis. Seek information (in the company's website, in print or otherwise) about wh
at do the companies for which you will deliver the curriculum, and what kind of
professionals they seek. Write resumes highlighting the characteristics that you
have and that fit the profile that the company wants. 3 - Be original. For insp
iration, there is no problem in seeing curricula models published in the press o
r on specialized sites, but not copy them. Remember that your assessor
will probably receive several others like that model, and all that you do NOT wa
nt is to be just "another" 4 - Be localizable. Contact information is essential.
They should come on top, highlighted in the first sheet. Do not try to be more
extensive than necessary: for my analysis, just take the full name, home telepho
ne, cell phone and email (all must be updated and correct). Inform multiple phon
es and multiple e-mails should be avoided,€unless you have a good excuse - the m
inimum expected of a contract is possible that he can decide what your phone and
email contact. 5 - Have a focus. If you're looking at the same time as placing
a classical guitar teacher and as a web programmer, make a separate resume for e
ach of the places, without mixing them skills so different. But do not be afraid
to mention (but there as additional note, without highlighting) the curriculum
for a technical job their artistic skills or human, or vice versa - companies do
not hire robots, and often have an interest in knowing as early is a person (no
t just the professional) who is hiring. The same goes for extra-curricular activ
ities, volunteer work and other "extras." 6 - Be clear, direct and true. A key p
oint is to include complete and accurate information, both directly and concisel
y. Try to mask information that the company will find out later is an unnecessar
y risk, and may lead to further negative rating simply because you have tried. 7
- Write in an informal way, but correctly. Read and reread it, remove errors of
spelling and grammar. Rate, stress. Give to someone to review and verify the da
ta and even numbers. The last thing you want is your contact phone number is wro
ng. The second last thing you want is that the presence of typing errors take yo
ur appraiser to believe that you are not jealous, or who writes badly. 8 - Be se
lective. Hardly your assessor will wonder where you made your pre-school, or int
ernship required to graduate from high school. It is likely that he wants to kno
w if you did computer courses or training in any area, but the number of vacanci
es for which is relevant information that you have made progress in piano when s
he was 12 years is quite limited. Include this kind of detail in the curriculum
is almost an admission that the candidate is nothing more important to inform, o
r who has no understanding of what is important. Two good reasons to leave the p
ile of resumes that will be called for interview ... 9 - Include the essentials.
In a good resume, can not miss the current contact information, a characterizat
ion about you (full name, date of birth, home town, marital status, having child
ren) information about recent professional experiences (jobs, internships - incl
uding period and activity performed in each case at least), academic degrees (wi
th details only on the most relevant), and other activities and events that can
help define you as a professional: participation in courses and events, activiti
es as an instructor, activities Community, policy languages, additional skills (
eg driving, have your own car ...) and other items, provided they are relevant t
o the job you want! 10 - Do a good visual. Of course the most important part of
their curriculum is the content, but you definitely do not want to give the wron
g impression. Print neatly, and handed over documents (not photocopies) of your
resume in each company. If you have to fix something, simply edit and print agai
n, nothing to change writing with pen on its original outdated. Remember that if
you to perfect your resume can be the first contact that the company will have
with you. But if you do not to perfect, he is likely to be the last. And always
remember: nothing in excess. The wisdom lies in the balance!
Completing the series of articles on curriculum that began last week here in Efe
tividade.net, I prepared a set of 10 tips to avoid common mistakes in editing an
d formatting of resumes. We have seen that not always the candidate with the fan
ciest curriculum takes advantage in the selection for a job opportunity or inter
nship, but it is common for those who send a resume sloppy or incomplete end up
being left behind, because information critical to making my decision does not e
nd up being so accessible or visible as they should - and it certainly says some
thing about the professional who sent that document. Due to my professional acti
vities, I analyze dozens of resumes from professionals in IT every year, and oft
en have the unpleasant task of the curriculum only preselected people to schedul
e interviews for the posts more contentious, and when that happens, the shape pr
esentation of the curriculum is very important. A fancy resume can make the diff
erence between a careful reading by the appraiser, or a simple cursory analysis
that classifies you as "one who copied the model that appeared in the newspaper,
"€and places it in the discard pile. You need not be a professional designer to
make a fancy resume - just have a little common sense, and use well the resource
s that your text editor available to you. Also read the first section, "10 tips
to create a content model curriculum fancy." But before you keep reading the tip
s below, which were selected from various sources and supplemented by my own exp
erience in the pre-condition reluctant evaluator curricula. Finally, consider al
so a collection of links to sources of information about the selected topic. The
summary of the opera is that while you want your content to be read and underst
ood, you do not want to risk being seen as "another" or that your assessor has t
he impression that you have not applied the enough in preparing the curriculum.
But you can not run the risk of standing out negatively for committing excesses
in their composition, or by making the shape of the curriculum call more attenti
on than the content. Let the tips, which focus on common mistakes you should avo
id.

1 - There is "one more." Escape models of pre-made curriculum and sites that mee
t the curriculum for you automatically: you do not want your appraiser you see a
s "one more". Instead, you want to stand out, and need to do this without losing
the line. It is okay to consult them, study them or even take some ideas from t
hem, however. 2 - Do not use fancy paper. If you want to invest in quality paper
for your resume, choose a good quality paper, but white, smooth and in A4 forma
t. Ask for A4 paper in stationery, weight 90 g/m2. Textures, colors, marbling an
d other "differences" do not always pass the message you would like to pass. 3 -
Do not include a cover sheet. It is a curriculum, not a school report! See the
previous article (10 tips to create a content model curriculum fancy) which shou
ld appear immediately on the first page of your resume. 4 - Do not waste effort
with a special cover or envelope. There is nothing wrong with them, but tends to
be wasted effort. Unless the company is very small, it is likely that the resum
es are received by an industry protocol, passed on to someone who will put them
in a folder and only then delivered to the assessor - and its envelope, wrapper
or cover particular have huge chances of going to the trash in the first two ste
ps.

5 - Do not use fonts Times New Roman, Comic Sans or a fancy font. The first woul
d be appropriate (there is nothing wrong with it), but as is the standard source
of various text editors, will likely help you look "more". The second is only s
uitable for decorations for children's parties. Choose a light source, sober and
good readability. Try Arial, Georgia, Verdana. Georgia is my favorite 10 or 11.
6 - No microscopic sources. Your assessor can see evil. A very readable source
can be reduced to a maximum of 9 points. Ideally, you will not fall below 10 poi
nts. If the bulk of its text does not fit on the first page, do not try to squee
ze it reduces the source. 7 - Use fonts in any color as long as it's black. The
use of sources in gray is a common trick to reduce the "weight" of a page, but t
here is a limit below which it impairs the readability. Prefer black, or at most
very dark gray (75% or more). 8 - No excessive decoration. No drawings, engravi
ngs, illustrations. Frames and borders should also be avoided. If you use any co
lor (besides black), limit yourself to just one, and only where there is need to
highlight. 9 - Run of roles in oddly shaped. Your evaluator will receive many r
esumes, and you must store them in an envelope or folder. If yours is too big, w
ill not fit. If too small, can become loose, or fall between two others and not
be read. In Brazil, always use paper in A4 format. 10 - Do not print in landscap
e format. Nobody wants to turn your resume aside to read, especially if it is cl
ipped to several others, or fixed in a folder. Get more ways to be different ;-)
