Introduction
The concept of in utero stimulation is the result of years of research, mainly i
n Europe and the United States about human development before birth, based on th
e principles of early learning. Stimulation in the uterus, also called prenatal
or intrauterine stimulation refers to the physical and relaxation techniques app
lied by parents or caregivers during pregnancy, with the aim of encouraging the
development of the nervous system, communication and bonding with mother , fathe
r or both, in the best cases. Thus, we see the baby as a being with own unique c
haracteristics, able to act and react in the womb. Spaces are also provided phys
ical and mental relaxation for the mother, and provides emotional support and pa
rtner for the enjoyment of pregnancy. This book contains strategies compiled mai
nly from "Manual stimulation for pregnant women, 1 as well as other materials th
at have served as instruments of consultation sessions stimulation in utero. Wit
h it, aims to equip community instructors provide activities for relaxation and
emotional and sensory stimuli to women during pregnancy. Before starting work wi
th pregnant women, suggested reading and reviewing the content of this work, to
facilitate understanding and development of the recommended activities.

e addressed to the mother. • Two words or phrases that express loving father. •
Two phrases or words that they would have liked to be told in its infancy. • Two
phrases that identify your baby. Read the sentences and eight individually choo
se one that identifies with their baby and like to use as a "keyword". This will
be your cover letter with the baby, and always pronounced with affection and em
otion to talk or play with him, when you greet and say goodbye. Once they have y
our baby in her arms, saying its respective keyword and watch the reaction of th
e small: perhaps he seeks the source of the sound, open your eyes, calm down, st
op mourn or smile. This reaction will show that the baby who identified aurally
have given him love before he was born: his parents.
23
How do you imagine (emotional stimulation)
Material
• Classical music or quiet. • Chairs or mat.
Duration
40 minutes.
Development
It is preferable that this activity involved the baby's father and mother togeth
er with sufficient time. Seated in a comfortable position, observe the mother's
abdomen and visualize the baby inside. Imagine his head, his eyes closed, his no
se small and delicate mouth that opens and closes slowly. Walk around your chest
and mentally that strong heart that pulsates with energy, feel the warmth and t
enderness with which it beats. Look at his wonderful determination to grow and l
ive, and want to share with you that feeling. The mother should hold our breath
to hear how the baby's heart in tune with the rhythm of his own heartbeat. You w
ill notice that produces deep breathing with gentle movements in the womb. They
imagine the baby's arms and fingers in motion, and his thin legs, rocked by the
swaying of the water, and then count the fingers of your feet. Keep watching you
r baby for a moment. Then look at the room where they are. They can continue in
that position for a while longer, while enjoying the feeling evoked. Repeat this
activity as often as they wish.
24
We hugged (emotional stimulation)

gainst the mother. Hug five different ways. First, the father has to hold the mo
ther in her arms as she talks about what has taken place during pregnancy until
this moment, then turn to the mother to provide support to the father. While the
y are embracing, perceived security that derives from the physical support and n
urturing. Then change position: sitting next to each other, one behind the other
, or in other ways they can think of, and repeat the five hugs like last time.
25
Let the body sounds (auditory stimulation)
Material
• mattress.
Duration
30 minutes.
Development
The baby lives in the womb, immersed in a world of sounds. He's used to noise as
part of their habitat. The sounds you hear are a stimulator of their attention
and curiosity, especially when emerging from what is usual for him and become a
gaming experience.
Talk about them to your baby who will be playing with him "making noises." Intro
duce the sounds one by one and, if desired, indicate this on what class are: • s
peech sounds and mouth. They result from the combination of the 28 letters of th
e alphabet and are accompanied by rhythm, intonation and melody, to cause a vari
ety of issues that give meaning to speech; are also onomatopoeic, which are prod
uced by imitating sounds of animals or Nature: muu, crowing, baa, woof woof, meo
w meow glu glu, brr brr, shhhhh, etcetera. • Sounds body. Are those originating
with body movements: applause, blows to the belly, thunder of the fingers, or cl
ap, among others. • Sounds of the body. They are produced during the digestive p
rocess, breathing and heart: the passage of saliva, rhythmic breathing, heartbea
t (thump, thump) or the bloodstream (sshh-sshh). Be creative and dynamic. Rememb
er that it is playing with the baby and, above all, laugh a lot. Pay close atten
tion to the reactions of the baby may have sounds that you like more than others
, and you may notice your responses. Repeat this activity as many times as they
like during the pregnancy.
26
I like to caress (emotional stimulation)
Material
• Classical music or quiet. • mattress.
Duration
30 minutes.
Development
The caresses the womb are expressions of love and acceptance for the baby, and a
way to incorporate the family group.
Open To the father, mother and siblings. Lay your hands gently on your belly and
pat, preferably without speaking to the baby. During this activity, try to proj
ect love and acceptance. Try to prolong the session and try to relax to the rhyt
hm of the strokes.
27
I'll tell you a story (auditory stimulation and emotional)
Material
• Classical music or quiet. • mattress.
Duration
30 minutes.
Development
It is common to wonder if the baby in the story mean something to him to read. H
owever, although very young to understand verbal language, is not to interpret t
he love and affection that is expressed by the tone and voice security. Furtherm
ore, reading a story repeated nervous system sensitized to linguistic patterns.
The baby clearly audible in the uterus from the sixth month, and adapts the body
rhythm to the speech of his mother. Speech is a type of learning that begins in
the womb, with individual patterns (like our fingerprints), and they originate
from maternal speech imitation. Classical music creates a relaxed atmosphere tha
t allows the capture in peace.
Here are two models of appropriate reading material for the baby, but is also fr
ee to choose a nursery rhyme happy and fun. Violent themes are not recommended n
or dramatic. May involve the mother, father or siblings, whether in the evening
or at night. Try varying the tone of his voice to the situation of the story.
28
Tale I. The caterpillar amarilla3
A yellow caterpillar lived under a tree. There, in the midst of a branch, was hi
ding his bed. Ate pieces of leaves, I took the sun drops. He liked to go out and
look at the critters that come out flying. One day something strange happened.
He felt his body bloated. He would not look out, I just wanted to rest. He put o

Story II. The margarita blanca4
It was once a white daisy who lived underground, in a little warm, quiet and dar

the two," said the white daisy. And it opened a crack, where the sun slipped an
d rain inside the house.€Then the rain took the right hand, and the sun took him
by the left hand and pulled the white daisy, and pulled and pulled to the top a

Read the story about 15 times a month and as the days go try to distinguish whet
her the words or phrases produced some response from your baby is moving, calmin
g or kicking. Identify it relates to the tone of his voice and tell the situatio
n. This reaction will show that the baby interact with you and reacts to differe
nt stories or particular to different narrators. Keep telling stories, the key i
s repetition and the quality of the narrative.
31
The high-pitched sounds (auditory stimulation)
Material
• • • • • • quiet classical music. Mat. Small boxes. Diamondbacks. Rice. Beans.
Duration
15 minutes.
Development
The auditory stimulation is based on the treble and bass sounds.
Pitched sounds are of lower intensity than those of human speech, so first we wi
ll use them. To start small and get three boxes placed bells in one, rice in ano
ther, and a few beans in the past. Be careful not to fill them, to produce sound
at the time of shaking. It is recommended that this activity is performed in pa
irs. With the mother in a comfortable position, shake the boxes to the rhythm of
the music and trying to imitate the sound of the heart. In the first session, u
se the box with the bells, in the next session, rice, and finally the beans. Sub
sequently, three more sessions, move the three boxes for a few minutes each. Bei
ng short, it is recommended that this exercise every day and night. It should te
ll the baby what it is that you have sound. A reaction, either moving or calm, i
s an indication that the child participates. Do not forget to talk to him before
and after activity.
32
The orchestra of the treble (auditory stimulation)
Material
• • • • • • quiet classical music. Mat. Small boxes. Diamondbacks. Rice. Beans.
Duration
15 minutes.
Development
The mother is able to communicate with your baby and feel what you like and what
not.
This activity is a continuation of previous work as it is auditory stimuli with
high-pitched sounds. Located in a comfortable position, place them, one by one,
at the height of the belly, about 30 inches away, to present to your baby. Slowl
y come up and away the boxes. Sounded for two minutes each. Shake together the t
hree boxes in different rates, that is, following various sequences of sounds an
d pauses. They also can play all three at the same time in bars, or toggle the s
ound. It is suggested to try all possibilities, taking into account of the prefe
rences of the baby and showing their stillness or movement.
33
Bass sounds (auditory stimulation)
Material
• • • • • quiet classical music. Mat. Girls plastic bottles full of rocks, dirt
and nails. Girl empty plastic bottle. Two sticks.
Duration
15 minutes.
Development
Bass sounds are more intense than speech. Therefore, this will be a noisy but fu
n activity in which they occupy the entire time a "musical instrument."
Sit comfortably, say hi to the baby and talk about something about the sounds th
ey hear (for example, tell him "you'll hear a bottle full of nails"). Then shake
the bottle filled with stones or sticks beat in rhythm with the empty bottle at
a distance of approximately 15 inches from the belly, first slowly and graduall
y more quickly, then slowly return to the initial velocity . On completion, they
should ask the baby if you like, spend a few words of love and bid him farewell
. Repeat the activity, but with different instruments.
34
The orchestra bass sounds (auditory stimulation)
Material
• • • • • quiet classical music. Mat. Girls plastic bottles full of rocks, dirt
and nails. Girl empty plastic bottle. Two sticks.
Duration
15 minutes.
Development
Here we take the instruments used in the activity "Sounds serious," in all possi
ble combinations, and produce sounds slow, fast or beat background music. The mo
ther can start with an instrument and the father respond with another, in order
to establish a dialogue between different sounds. Another option is to start wit
h an instrument, continue and end with one another differently. It is recommende
d not to talk and are very attentive to the baby's reactions.
35
Balancing (stimulation of movement)
Material
• Classical music or quiet. • mattress.
Duration
15 minutes.
Development
The maturation of vestibular-ear structure that is favored by the progressive mo
vements of the baby grows, "he has to do with a sense of balance and movement, b
ut also learning. The acquisition of knowledge in children was based first on th
e domain of the body, and then the possibilities of movement and exploration tha
t it permits. If the balance is developed properly, the child is able to move wi
thout problem, and therefore know and learn, because learning is a result of a p
rogression of events that must take firm stands.
Mézase gently to the rhythm of the music or the rhythm of his heartbeat, either
in a chair or sitting on a soft mat. Underwriting year is recommended at mid-mor
ning or afternoon, away from food, to avoid dizziness or nausea. If you still ex
perience some of these difficulties, frequent breaths and then chew pieces of ca
rrot or apple. Do not strain.
36
Let's keep doing balance (stimulation of movement)
Material
• Classical music or quiet. • Tape. • Gis.
Duration
15 minutes.
Development
Exercise is good for relaxation and fitness.
Draw lines with chalk or tape on the floor, then walk on them putting one foot a
fter another, balancing. For security hold on the arm of a companion. A variatio
n is to navigate an edge a little higher, also helping another person. Do this e
xercise with eyes open or closed and arms outstretched.
37
I like to feel (emotional stimulation)
Material
• Classical music or quiet. • mattress. • natural oil.
Duration
15 minutes.
Development
The baby is very active in the womb, and stages of activity combined with sleep
and rest, but there are times when it is much more active and their movements ar
e a form of dialogue with the mother. The strokes in the womb can mean soothing
massage. The baby is if someone moves his hand through his abdomen, and responds
with movements or peace. If the parent participates talking softly, also reacts
to this game. In addition, women who receive massage during pregnancy give birt
h easier and a warm response from the baby.
When the baby kicks, correspóndanle with gentle strokes in the mother's abdomen
so that strengthened the attempt to communicate with him in a dialogue based aff
ectionate caresses across the belly, round or a mixture of all. If you feel that
the baby is fussy, it is ideal to use this resource every night to get the moth
er to relax, encouraging sleep and rest. It is recommended to sing softly and us
e a light natural oil to facilitate movement of the hand.
38
Exercises fist (tactile stimulation)
Material
• Classical music or quiet. • mattress.
Duration
30 minutes.
Development
Sit on the mat, with background music. Start breathing rhythmically, until you f
eel comfortable and relaxed. The father, with his hand in a fist, push gently ab
out 30 times the right side of the womb, in two different locations: the upper a
nd lower, following the rhythm of music. Then do the same on the left side. Repe
at the exercise three times per side. With this exercise, a dialogue touch with
the baby, that improves with repetition. It is therefore necessary to conduct th
e activity in different sessions, to observe all the answers and try to understa
nd what they mean.
39
Learn to count (tactile stimulation)
Material
• Classical music or quiet. • mattress. • Flashlight.
Duration
30 minutes.
Development
During this activity, many parents see baby's reactions, which demonstrate the a
ttention he paid to exercise and how pleased he feels.
Start pointing at the belly with the lamplight, and tell the baby will tell. Fir
st they say one and press once, as if imprinting his hand on her belly, then say
two and press twice on the same side,€but on different sites. With the flashlig
ht, aim where you are pressing and follow the path of pressure. Continue with ot
her numbers as well, reaching 10. Pay attention to all the reactions of the baby
. To accompany this activity is recommended to chant the following rhyme: One, t
wo, three, puñetitos. Four, five, six, puñetitos. Seven, eight, nine puñetitos.
Ten puñetitos are.
40
On and off (visual stimulation)
Material
• • • • quiet classical music. Mat. Flashlight. Green cellophane.
Duration
30 minutes.
Development
Under certain conditions, the baby may receive some light through the abdominal
wall of the mother.
Sit comfortably on the mat. If you wish, change position later. Although this ex
ercise involved the mother, baby and father, it is who mostly follow the recomme
ndations given below. Cover the lantern with cellophane, to decrease a little th
e intensity of light. After lighting the lamp, tell your baby is going to play w
ith him, talking to the height of the belly. Aim the light at half the mother's
abdomen and say, "comes on," thus keeping it for five seconds. Then turn off the
lamp for five seconds and tell "is turned off." Then place the lantern in the l
ower abdomen and repeat "is turned on and off." You must do this in three positi
ons: above the belly in the middle and bottom. Follow this sequence in eight rep
