PRESENTATION PLAN

I. I AM

II. Media to be used:

For my presentation I will be bussing my students up from Farmington to perform part of the
Devised show that I am directing with my students as part of my Senior Seminar with the
Theatre department. For this I will be using a projector, some basic sound equipment (speakers;
which I will provide), and possibly some basic tech equipment from the theatre department.

III. Feelings you are hoping to evoke in your audience.

I want the audience to see how young voices can use their art to speak up about the things that
matter in students lives and take their voices seriously. I want them to be touched by the work
that the students are creating about themselves and feel inspired to step up and do the same. I
hope that this piece is moving and powerful since the students are relying on their own personal
experiences to create this raw, emotional, and heart felt show. I want the audience to truly know
who my students are as individuals and artists.

IV. Summary of how you are going to use your artifact.

My Artifact is the performance that students will put on that we have been collaboratively
creating in class and writing from scratch. The piece is titled I AMWE ARE and is about who
we are as individuals. I will also be bringing the Poster, Playbill, and Script that we create for this
piece.

V. Steps:

a. I will introduce the piece that the students are going to perform and talk about the piece and
the process behind creating this piece and what this piece means/why it is important.

b. My students will perform the piece I AMWE ARE.

c. After the performance I will have the audience clap for the students and possibly let them ask
questions. I will also present the Poster, Playbill, and Script that we will be creating with this
show which will serve as supplemental artifacts and talk about how we created them and the
inspiration and meaning behind them.

X. Feedback/Evaluation/Closure stage: At the end I will open it up for questions. I also think it
would be fun to let the audience participate and create their own I AM statements with the
students.
VI. Uses of your statement: "What is my work?" And/or: "Who Am I as a Teacher?"

This presentation will show What is my work and Who Am I as a Teacher through my
students. As teacher I am someone that inspires my students to create art and preserve with
their art. My work is shown through the students who I collaborate with and direct through
theatrical forms of art whether it be though technical or performance (both aspects will be
presented during my PEX). My work is shown by teaching my students to create art as a way for
their voices to be heard. My students have a powerful voice that needs to be heard, my work is
to help them be heard.

NOTE: As I move further along in the process of this


Devised Theatre piece with my students I can elaborate
more on certain aspects. This piece is still in the early
stages of production and we are now starting to write out
the actual script. At this point we only have a concept
which is I amWe Are. I expect this piece to be powerful
and moving because the students are using their own
personal experiences to create this show.
