We have 3 dogs, 3 cats and 3 tigers in a box. We will take out 3 animals, one by one
without putting it back in the box.
Here is our first try. Suppose the first animal we take out of the box is a cat, the
second is a cat again and now we are left with 2 cats. Finally, the third animal is a cat
again. We can also take out a cat first, a cat second and a tiger third. We can also take
out a cat first, a cat second and a dog third, and so on. The possible outcomes and
probabilities:
1 cat
2 cats 3 tigers Cat, cat, cat
Cat, cat, tiger
3 dogs Cat, cat dog
2 dogs 1/3*1/3*1/3=1/2

1/3*1/3*1/3=1/2

1/3*1/3*1/3=1/2

1/3*1/3*1/2=1/1
8
1/3*1/3*1/2=1/1

1/3*1/3*1/3=1/2

The possible outcomes and probabilities for the second time are:
2 dogs 1/3*1/3*1/2=1/18
3 dogs
