BPM 12C Installation

This section we have explained step by step instruction of Oracle BPM 12C installation on
Windows OS.

Pre-Requisite
JDK is installed on the machine. Click here for the installation instruction
Oracle database is installed and the service is Running. Im using Oracle XE for this
installation.
Following steps are covered in this topic
A) Oracle bpm 12c installation
B) Create BPM schemas in Oracle database
C) Create BPM domain
D) Open JDeveloper
A) Installation of BPM Suite
1. Download the BPM suite 12.2.1 from the following site, The URL might change in the
future.
2. Read and accept the license agreement. Download the software based on your OS.

3. I have downloaded the two zip files for Windows and unzipped in one location
4. Open a command prompt, go to the directory where the downloaded file is unzipped
and issue the following line from

1 java -jar fmw_12.2.1.0.0_bpm_quickstart.jar

5. BPM suite welcome screen appears on the screen. Click Next

6. Choose the appropriate option and click Next
7. Enter the path where you want to install the Oracle BPM suite
8. Click Next
9. Click Install
10. The installation progress screen will appear on the next screen. Click Next once the
progress is 100%
11. Click Exit to complete the installation
B) Create BOM schemas in Oracle Database
1. Go to the installation directory ., i.e ORACLE_HOME >> oracle_common >> bin and
double click the rcu.bat file .

2. Click Next on the welcome screen

3. Check the Create Repository option and click Next
4. Enter your database credentials and click Next

5. Check the SOA suite option and click Next

6. Click OK

7. Input password and click Next

8. Click Next
9. Click Next
10. Click OK

11. Click Create

12. Click Close to complete the database schema creation

C) Create BPM Domain

1. Go to the installation directory (ORACLE_HOME) >> wlserver >> common >> bin and
execute the config.cmd

2. A domain creation wizard appears on the screen ., input domain name at the end of
the path and click Next

3. Check the BPM suite and click Next

4. Click Next
5. Input WebLogic password and click Next
6. Check appropriate (Development or Production) and click Next
7. Input your BPM database details and click Get RCU Configuration

8. Change your database details in the screen if required and click Next
9. Once all the test are passed. click Next

10. Click Next

11. Change the server configuration if required or un-check all and click Next. Here I will
remove the managed server and modify admin server port so I checked the admin
server and managed server
12. The default admin server port in 7001, changed it to 9001
13. Click the SOA_SERVER and click Delete. This is not required step. I just want to run
my BPM to be run on admin server so I deleted the managed server
14. I dont t need a clustered servers if you need to create one here if not click Next.

15. Accept default and click Next

16. Add machine for the servers if required else click Next

17. Click Create to create BPM domain

18. Click Next once the progress complete and click Finish on the Next screen to
complete the domain creation.

Start Weblogic domain

1. Go to the domain bin directory, user_projects\domains\bpm\bin and double
click startWeblogic.cmd

2. Below are the URLs of BPM server

http://localhost:9001/console => Weblogic Console

http://localhost:9001/em => Enterprise Manager console

http://localhost:9001/bpm/workspace => BPM workspace

http://localhost:9001/bpm/composer => BPM Composer

D) Open JDeveloper
Go to ORACLE_HOME C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_Home\jdeveloper\ and double
click the jdeveloper.exe
