For me, happiness is a way of life, a choice, and it comes from passion.
Yes, I believe that we are responsible for our happiness. It is a skill set, that we
can work on to achieve. Our brain has a natural propensity towards keeping us
safe and focusing on the negative is helpful for our safety. Choosing to
exercise our happy neurons strengthens their connections. Research supports
that activities such as gratitude and meditation increase our happiness.
Focusing on the negative decreases it. Ultimately it is about choosing which
dragon to feedthe one that increases your negativity or the one that
increases your happiness. I like to focus on strengthening my happiness
dragon.
Many people believe that happiness is having fun at a party, the excitement of
new experiences, the thrill and passion of sex, or the delights of a fine meal.
These are all wonderful experiences to be cherished and cultivated but they
are not happiness. These experiences are the definition of pleasure.
"Happiness is the meaning and purpose of life, the whole aim and end of
human existence."
Happiness is not determined by what's happening around you, but rather
what's happening inside you.
Happiness comes when you feel contented and fulfilled .How happy can we be,
depends on how we choose to act and think.
Happiness is not a goal to strive for but is rather an outcome from a life that is
dedicated to making a difference for good, that has chosen to be wholehearted
in all that it does and believes that their life was meant to count for something.
See, you can't find happiness it has to find you. Because happiness
pursued can never be caught but it will often creep up on you while you pursue
something else thats totally worthwhile. For in securing happiness for others
we soon discover it for ourselves. Remember, when we praise others -
happiness finds a soul-mate.
The truth is that happiness is mathematical - it's simply any excess over
expectation. So keep your selfish expectations low and you will find happiness
in all that you do. You can open every door to happiness and contentment with
the keys of love and duty.
Now while the past is full of regret and the future full of worry, happiness can
only be enjoyed in the present. So live in the present and find the abundant
happiness offered in the cottage of self sufficiency and independence and shun
the enticing palace of dependency and servitude.
