Graviola and Paw Paw Treatments

The current ways to treat cancer are cut, poison and burn. Cutting is
much more effective than the others. If someone has breast cancer, just
cut it off. Chemotherapy makes people sick. The most popular drug for
breast cancer causes uterine cancer. Many anti-cancer drugs are causing
cancer. They are not good cures.
The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is one of the National Institutes of
Health (NIH). In 1998, the NIH created the 27th NIH, the NCCAM,
and the National Center for Complimentary and Alternative Medicine.
It studies the health benefits of natural dietary supplements like herbs
for cures:

They tested over 20,000 different plants and found that the leaves of the
graviola tree, which grows in the Amazon rainforest, can kill cancer
cells. In other words, it is a great cancer cure. They are phytochemicals
called annonaceous acetogenins. Chemicals can be patented so that no
one else can sell them, but herbs that exist in nature cannot be patented.
So no one is going to spend millions of dollars to do the studies to get
FDA approval to claim that graviola cures cancer.
The Graviola is a small, upright evergreen tree growing 5 to 6 meters in
height with large dark green and glossy leaves. Graviola is indigenous to
most of the warmest tropical areas in South and North America
including the Amazon. It produces a large heart-shaped edible fruit that
is 6-9", yellow green in color, with white flesh. The fruit is sold in local
markets in the tropics where it is called Guanabana or Brazilian
Cherimoya and is excellent for making drinks and sherbets and, though
slightly sour-acid, can be eaten out-of-hand.

Many bioactive compounds and phytochemicals have been found in

Graviola, as scientists have been studying its properties since the 1940s.
Its many uses in natural medicine have been validated by scientific research. Several
studies by different researchers demonstrated that the bark as well as the
leaves had hypotensive, antispasmodic, anticonvulsant, vasodilator,
smooth-muscle relaxant, and cardio-depressant activities in animals.
Researchers verified Graviola leaf's hypotensive properties in rats again
in 1991. Several studies over the years have demonstrated that leaf, bark,

root, stem, and seed extracts of Graviola are antibacterial in vitro against
numerous pathogens, and that the bark has anti-fungal properties. Graviola
seeds demonstrated active anti-parasitic properties in a 1991 study, and a
leaf extract showed to be active against malaria in two other studies (in
1990 and 1993). The leaves root, and seeds of Graviola demonstrated
insecticide properties, with the seeds demonstrating strong insecticidal
activity in an early 1940 study. In a 1997 clinical study, novel alkaloids
found in Graviola fruit exhibited anti-depressive effects in animals.
Purdue University and/or its staff have filed at least 9 U.S. and/or
international patents on their work around the anti-tumorous and
insecticidal properties and uses of these acetogenins. Three separate
research groups have isolated novel compounds in the seeds and leaves
of graviola which have demonstrated significant anti-tumorous, anti-
cancerous and selective toxicity against various types of cancer cells,
publishing 8 laboratory studies on their findings. Much of Purdue
University's research on annonaceous acetogenins was funded by the
NCI and/or the NIH.

The head Purdue pharmacologist in Purdue's research explains that

cancer cells that survive chemotherapy may develop resistance to the
agent used against them as well as other, even unrelated, drugs (known
as multi-drug resistance [MDR]). Purdue researchers reported that
annonaceous acetogenins preferentially killed multi-drug resistant cancer
cells because it blocked production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP).
Purdue researchers found that leaves from the graviola tree killed cancer
cells among six human cell lines and are especially effective against
prostate and pancreatic cancer cells.
In at least 20 laboratory tests since the 1970s, graviola has been proven
to hunt down and kill cancer cells in the prostate, lung, breast, colon and
pancreas. Graviola is extremely effective in isolating and killing lung
cancer cells. According to one study conducted at Catholic University of
South Korea, scientists discovered that two chemicals extracted from
graviola seeds targeted and killed malignant breast and colon cells in a
test tube.

Graviola Contraindications:
-- Graviola is not to be used during pregnancy or breast-feeding.
-- Graviola may sometimes cause sleepiness or relaxation.

-- Graviola is contraindicated in combination with CoQ10 and other

supplements which increase cellular ATP. One mechanism of action of
Graviola is as an ATP-inhibitor.

-- Graviola has demonstrated hypotensive, vasodilator, and cardio-

depressant activities in animal studies. People with low blood pressure
or taking antihypertensive drugs should check with their doctors before
taking Graviola and monitor their blood pressure accordingly.

-- The use of this plant is probably contraindicated in combination with

MAO inhibitors and some prescription antidepressants. Check with
your doctor first if you are taking prescription antidepressants or MAO
inhibitor drugs prior to taking Graviola.
-- Graviola has demonstrated significant in vitro antimicrobial
properties. Chronic, long-term use of this plant may lead to die-off of
friendly bacteria in the digestive tract due to its antimicrobial properties.
Supplementing the diet with probiotics and digestive enzymes is
advisable if this product is used for longer than 30 days.

-- Graviola has demonstrated emetic properties. Large single dosages

may cause nausea or vomiting. Reduce the usage accordingly or take
with a meal if nausea occurs.

-- Drinking plenty of water (at least 8 glasses a day) is helpful to reduce

Herxheimer reactions.
-- This plant has been used indigenously as a sedative (in large amounts).
Reduce Graviola usage if sedation occurs.

Graviola only has single ring compounds, while the Paw Paw's
acetogenins have several double ring compounds (e.g. bullatacin) which
make Paw Paw much more powerful.
Paw Paw works (and graviola as well) by slowing down or stopping the
production of ATP. This in turn lowers the voltage of the cell. For
normal cells, there is plenty of ATP, thus lowering the level of ATP has
no effect on the cell. However, with cancer cells, due to the way they
create energy (by fermentation), ATP is far more critical.
When the ATP level, and the energy of the cell level, drops to a critical
level the cell falls apart. The residual pieces of the dead cancer cell are
called lysing and are similar to other apoptosis (programmed cell death)
killed cells. If that is the case, then part of the lysing is literally eaten by
other cells (called: phagocytosis).
Paw Paw gravitates towards cells that use a lot of energy and then cuts
off their energy supply. Since cancer cells use ten to seventeen times
more energy than a normal cell, Paw Paw acts on cancer cells.
It is also the reason that pregnant women should not take Paw Paw. Paw Paw
could see some of the fast growing cells in the fetus as high energy cells.
In addition, some of the cells in a fetus are very similar to cancer cells
(i.e. the trophoblastic cells), so pregnant women should ALWAYS be
careful what they take for cancer.

However, because the cancer cells in a cancer patient are frequently

clustered together, a large amount of lysing can be created within a
cancer patient such that high levels of clustered lysing cannot be eaten
by surrounding cells. Such a situation is especially dangerous for lung cancer
patients and brain cancer patients where a clustered amount of lysing can be
very dangerous.
Paw Paw has been shown to kill multiple-drug resistant (MDR) cells,
which result from someone taking chemotherapy. This is critical to
understand because when a person on orthodox treatments comes out
of remission into regression, a high percentage of their cancer cells are

www.healthoracle.org 5
MDR cells. This would require the use of Paw Paw to treat these
patients.
No one with Parkinsons disease should take Paw Paw or graviola unless
alkaloid-free preparations are used. There is also a possibility of allergic
reactions in sensitive individuals.
The Camu camu fruit, another graviola type fruit, is also very high in
ellagic acid. It contains a naturally occurring phenolic compound that
has very strong anti-oxidant properties. It is a potent anti-carcinogen.
Ellagic Acid has the ability to inhibit mutations within a cells DNA. It is
also considered to be a cancer inhibitor which has the ability to restore
apoptosis or normal cell death in cancer cells.
